Okay firstly the legal limit on paintball velocity is determined by the fact that we are covered by Airgun Legislation and therefore limited to 12ft/lbs of muzzle energy. This equates to approximately 340 fps for a medium weight paintball

300fps is about 9.9 ft/lbs and therefore well within the legal limit

im pretty sure where your firing has to be either 100 feet, or 100yards away from any form of road/public walkway thing
Actually it's 50 feet from the Public Highway. Also you cannot use an Airgun even if you are over 50 feet away if it might cause a person on the highway to be "injured, interupted or endangered" - Firearms Acts 1968-1997

Oh yes. If your neighbours complain about you firing your marker you have to stop. I suggest asking them first, personally I preempted any complaints by offering to let them have a go themselves before firing my marker in my own garden. They took me up on the offer :D

I never bothered even asking my folks about it. Just potted up, opened my window and away I went. never really put much through it though. I do have a long, wideish garden with some seriously ****ty wood behind it so no one was ever going to get hurt (plus I never did it when the neighbours were in their garden). Now I have moved I look out and I see a protected land area with cows in it. Do you have any idea how frustrating it is not to be able to take a few pot shots and those things! I mean c'mon...its just gotta be done!;) :D

Charlie.

Just for the record I would never actually shoot at the cows no matter how much fun it would be :)

i fire my gun in the garden and when i let rip the neighbours look out the window and watch me. and the next day at work they come to me and say comments like "wow is that your paintball gun quite fast isnt it". or "do those hurt when they hit you". so i invite them round give em some gogs and let them run around while i unleash my eblade on them. :D :D :) just kidding you dont think i would do that do you:p :) .

Charlie im coming round your house to paint check those cows:p

Well, very responsible you are too. A pleasure to see.
I once heard one of my neighbours say "...sounds like a f#cking machine gun, wicked!" when testing my RT. I shouted out, "but its not, its a semi" just to prove a point!

HOTPOINT: the ft/lbs formulae mass in grains X velocity over (whats the constant soemthing like 430290 or something)

Ahmen on the white stained shed thing. I have TWAT written on mine, little did I know...

50 ft from the Centre of the Queens Highway.

Make sure you have a good backstop, if your under 14 you need a grown up with you (over 21)

i think its most important that the ball CANT leave your garden. thats the point!and if they can by any meaning or accidently, better make sure they cant or dont fire your marker in your garden. cause you dont want to tell lil jimmys daddy that his 5 year old son just lost an eye cause "one ball just slipped through the fence". if you are sure balls cant leave your garden, just stay under 300 fps and you are safe. cause on your private ground you can do whatever you want as long others stay unaffected and its within the law.

Just make sure the neighbours don't mind, all it takes is one call o the police and you have an armed responce unit knocking your door through!
