So - what ARE they called - those real gun lookalikes that shoot 6mm plastic pellets ?

N
BB that stands for Ball Bearing (no-one has actually said this, my appologies if it was obvious).

I would say that (in answer to the original question, before we started talking about wasps and airsoft!) the closest thing we have to that kinda rivalry is the Scenario/Tourney paintball thing.

I know that there are people who play and love both, but are you trying to tell me that there are NO surfers who snow-board, No skaters that roller blade? Of course there are!

Right that's my last post before I go to bed, and no returns

I aint a fool.

and the size of this thing was bigger than the average wasp/bee, but it wasnt a hornet, unless some breeder let it out on purpose but it wouldnt last long anyways.

I was runnin from this thing pretty hard, it was a good 9 years or so since but it is still in my mind.
That thing buzzed around me for a few secs, and i didnt like it, would you?

O yeah and as 4 it having no dam stinger, well if i had of known that i woulda tried to swatt it away but you see i was an ikkle kid 9 years ago :)

And as 4 that gatling gun, its my fave weapon.

You ever seen that clip on Tarant on TV.
When this American guy had 1 of those things mounted on a rig.
LOL

Hmmmmmmm Terminator style.

And another clip with it in.
On Jeremy Clarksons Extreme machines.

He was in this helicopter (small thing) with these 2 gatling guns on either side, and this remote-controlled car.

The pilot opened up on this guy and dam this cars backend was ripped up in less than a sec.

1 of the best guns ever invented

Correction. I can confirm that hornets are native to Holland. I got plenty in my backyard every summer, and I have been stung by the Luftwaffe wannabees more than plenty.

You tell him budda, see I knew hornets were native in europe. Good knows who would want to breed the little buggers anyhow.

I have now worked out that ices has an overactive imagination and is prone to bouts of exageration. The gun above is a mingun not a gattling gun [try to find out what the difference is. the answer is simple and you will start using its proper name when you know] as for the Jeremy Clarkson thing, would this be the episode when he is in a OH-58C Kiowa chasing a corvette across the nevada desert. I think you will find the helicpopter had a single mingun as a twin system has been proven to shake the helicopters airframe apart. And as for taking the backend out in less then a second???? we're you watching it in fast forward?
I seem to remember when he finally did hit the car the few first shots just hit the wings and rear screen. then on the next pass he opened up and scored a few more hits. 'Cue pyrotecnics [funny how the car all of a sudden catches fire aint it] and the car seems to splutter and die. When he gets to it on the ground the car looks quite driveable, as for the ripped up rear end it still looked structually sound.

And back to big waspies, okay icews you were nine years old as you will find out everything looks bigger when your younger [man wagon wheels were huge when I was ickle] so we'll let you off the exageration here.

And back to guns. Yes miniguns are imppresive but if you want to see some major firepower you need to see a 30 mm GAU-8/A seven-barrel Gatling gun [big clue to the minigun/gatling gun thing here]. these are so huge and impressive they built a plane around the Gun and called it the A10 Thunderbolt/Warthog. When you have seen one of these ripping up a tank you will just go 'Oh My God I want one'
Another impressive site to behold is the AC-130 Spectre/Spooky this monster of a plane is the equivelent to overkill in the air. It has a 105mm Howitzer in its belly {as well as two Vulcan cannons} and just flies around the target raining shells from the sky.
[and a piccyof the 105mm being fired in flight vv]

PS Ro0ster or Cjohns care to get me a job in the USAF????PLeasssse;)

ya know, they mount vulcan cannons on war ships. they fire 20mm explosive rounds and do about 100 shots a sec, mini guns do like 60 and r not explosive. there was a gun on tommorows world that fired 1,000,000 a minute which equates to 16,666 bullets per second!!! not the sort of thing a man would carry.
i have forgotten the name of that plane but they used it in afghanistan when there was no air defence,
arent gatling guns the things the unionists and confederates used in the 1800s where u twist a lever and the bullets get fired the rate u twist?

Spooky gunships. Basically, C-130's with 3 vulcan cannon on the left side. The guns are each linked to a fire control computer which is so advanced it can place a round in every square yard of an american footbal field within 5 seconds.
And the while the American Civil war was the first use of gatling guns (named after their inventor) they continued in service in some form (obviously upgraded) until I think the 70's with the coming of the vulcan cannon.

Laser Quest would probably be the nearest rival I guess. As for the similarities, well the 'walk on equivalents' have there ow n name on the scoreboards, they walk around sort of all huched up to protect their sensors - oh yes and they put UV reactive paint on their faces - ooooooooh look at me, I'm quaking in my little space boots.

I've tried LQ (alright, alright, I admit it) to be honest, nowhere near as much fun as paintball, but then again running around in a room at about 110 degrees with 95% humidity was always going to loose out to sliding into a waterlogged barricade when its about -3 - what am i saying?

Meyer - Gatling guns named after the inventor ....Mr gun?????

.....Sorry had to:p

Tortoise-licker your so learned i was gonna mention the avenger (the name of the gun the A-10 is strapped to) makes a nice prrrt prrrt sound when firing mmmmm oh and the rounds are about the size of a milk bottle!!! as for the wasps you can keep them ive never bin stung by a wasp/bee/hornet so i fear that more than death. As for paintballs rival F*$& knows actually i dont really care cos what ever it is I`m not doing it (not because i dont want to but because paintball is the only sport  i do , does watching tv count as a sport?:p
