I think Superfly is right. The best short term solution for paintball to go mainstream is to try and attach it to events like the X-Games, Gravity Games, Urban Games etc... You start by just setting up a field, inviting all the local teams to throw some paint around (no competition rather a demo) and have rental kits on the spot and offer an inferno and 100 paintballs for like 5$ so that people can have a go......
There is a big Wakeboard competition in Yverdon Switzerland on the 21st of August and the guys have given us an area, right next to the trade show and right by the lake and bars to set up our field. We will have as I mentioned rental kits and anyone people pay CHF 5.- for 100 paintballs and get to play until they run out or until they've had enough, and we have invited some French and Swiss teams to come over and play some streetball. Should have great atmosphere and the great part is that the wakeboard competition already has great media coverage with TVs from all over Switzerland and more!
