Just found a good argument against some type of laser game on another forum, and for paintball:

With laser you can't have the wonderful experience of hearing balls or shots pounding on your bunker or flying overhead. At least I haven't figured any way it could be simulated.

Best thing about Paintball. Whilst it is statistically extremely safe, subconciously it feels really dangerous

Ahh the joys of a serious adrenaline buzz without the usual risk of possible death :p

I have to take this opportunity to say how much I appreciate this forum. It is so damned much more civilized than the others. I thought these ideas I presented were kinda fun and would get people thinking. And, as I have said, there is some spark of truth to some of the ideas.

On some of the other sites I've got people who want to kill me. Is it because Europeans in general and Brits in particular are so much better disposed to discuss things (even crazy ideas) rationally than we yanks? Or whuut?

I hope it keeps on this way.

I doubt very much that paintball will die... I can see your ideas working i.e. Taking over from airsoft as a "game" but not from paintball! This technology is already implemented if people have ever seen Combat Mission on Bravo? I think they use this kinda of equipment! Dont quote me on it though!!!

One of the reasons paintball may not be taken seriously over here is because the is no formal organisation and no official governing body. There are no real leagues as anyone with enough money can enter a tourney. Get a proper national league set up then see what happens. This means that teams would need a manager, and an official body to govern every aspect of the sport.

Again probably talkin' sh1te but its good to have a brain storming session :)

Take football for example.

Every level of play is part of a league. From boys teams and sunday league all the way up to the premiership. Marshals would perform the same function as refs ( and themselves be governed)
Players who cheated could be made to miss the next game or two, and so on.

Well, you know, If wadidiz says so it must be true(he forsaw it). I better get in somemore tourneys before "the apocalypse"
Never was a truer word spoken!!:D :D

Beside, i wish you guyz would stop blaming stuff on us.....

On a serious note.

Paintball's here to stay baby. You cant ban a spot 'cos some nutter abuses a paintball marker, otherwise you gotta bana shed load of similar sports. However, I am in favour of a registration system.

Long live paintball!!
