Classic American reporting!!!!

True gun shooting ability simply comes down to skill of the shooter. I think most people with practice and tuition could fairly consistently shoot a wine or beer bottle from 10m probably more with a handgun.

Unfortunately only chance you are going to get to practice is if you go stateside, where you can just buy them at Walmart! No really!! Unless you got involved with shooting before the handgun ban came in :(

not entirly true, as an ex-army range officer, i had a .22 rifle (small-bore) that has a 4 foot barrel, and a (full-bore) 5.56mm L85-a1 army rifle, with a 1foot barrel, which do you think has the greater fire power?? and muzzel velocity?
it's all down to the ballistics of the wepon, and the bore-sizes. not barrel length, all that does is keep the bullet on the same trajectory as it was fired (ie in a straight line for longer)

And therein lies the difference...any idea how much more accurate a rifle is compared to a pistol?
A pistol is designed for man-to-man combat, not for shooting someone at a distance. Rifles are designed to kill up to several hundred yards out.
Simply put: Longer barrel = Higher muzzle velocity = Longer range = Greater accuracy at short distance.
That said, if somebody shoves a pistol through my car window, he can damn well have my car.
I wasnt comparing shooting a moving target with a rifle, to a pistol....just shooting a moving target as opposed to a static one., is more difficult.

Its difficult to do either, without practice being the point and teh fact that I practice shooting moving targets, means it is easier for me to do it...and my bunnies are usually at 50-70 meters not 10m!

48 inch barrel on a .22LR!! Christ...my match rifle has a 30 inch barrel and I thought that was long!

Actually...the longer barrels purpose, isn't to maintain trajectory for longer...its actually there to maximise, or allow potential, for heavier loads, and hence greater muzzle velocity, as Buddha said.

By having a longer barrel, you can maximise the burning proppellant, giving it teh maximum time to accelerate teh bullet....it is a balancing act.

I have a 30 inch barrel on my Fullbore match rifle...but...if you were to put heavy loads in a shorter barrel, you wouldnt attain the same velocity, because the proppellant pops out of teh barrel, and doesnt accelerate teh bullet to its maximum.

Conversly, if teh barrel is too long, it will slow teh bullet down after maximum accelleration is reached.

On slower bullets, a long barrel is actually a disadvantage as you can still affect the position of teh barrel through minor movements etc, snatching teh trigger, and adversley affect teh expected point of impact.

When I had the Border barrel put on my .308 match rifle, i asked how long I should expect it to last.."Oh...about 15 seconds" was the reply...quite shocked at this was I, especially as it cost £600...of course, he was referring to the cumulative time of several thousands shots worth of use!:D

Priceless!

On another point, the guy shooting the gun (didnt see properly, was it a Dm5?) should have been wearing goggles :p
Oh yeah, and you ALWAYS put your goggles on when you're the only one shooting your marker down range or testing?

It was a Proto Matrix 6

Classic vid :D

I LMAO at that pose with the two of them, hands on hips.

That kid really made himself look like a dick, if he can't hit a target at 10m with a pistol wtf is he doing playing for evil factory. Shooting a pistol is not the same as shooting a paintball gun anyway. They should have at least used a spyder, with a bit of blowback action for kick :p

Lets not forget that his mate only hit the reporter once with about 6 damn slow lined up shots. Oh how I chuckled.

Yeah I think the whole thing was a bit stupid to be honest,

why use a paintball gun when theres airsoft replica firearms available that would surely represent a more realistic shooting situation? If the guys worth his salt at that range he should have hit that stupid cow with every shot!

Yeah obviously, but it is a fact that a colt .45 is a more accurate weapon than a paintball marker... I dont care what the guy says on the video, if you have any idea how to hold a gun and pull the trigger, you dont randomly completely miss shots at 30 ft or whatever he said...

And contrary to what the anchorman said, I dont think that all gun crimes or carjackings are necessarily carried out by crackheads...
