Paintball Association UK Announcement. - Re Sky Sports 2005

The Paintball Association
If the Millenniums had got of there arse and released there dates about the time everyone else did, we could have all been happy.
As it is when we along with the other UK organisers sorted the dates for this year the Millennium's we were told would have been part of NPPL Europe and we did ask for there dates and we only had confirmed the one date in August.
We have thought about moving one of ours but although it will help maybe 20 players we would have more complaints from others who have booked holidays/time off work for the dates we have given.
But on a personal point of view, if the hype works for you, play the Mills series, I am sure you will get value for your money.

......

Put it to a poll then? Let your customers decide...
And ask how many people have actually booked time of work? Answer, none...:p

On a personal note I think it will be a shame if some of our top players choose not to be there but that's an individuals choice... nothing we can do about that.

To be fair we'd been chasing the Millenniums for months asking about dates and realistically we just couldn't wait any longer.

We did, as we always have done, go out of our way to avoid clashing with Campaign as we're well aware that the majority of UK teams still like to play at the UK's grandest paintball fesitval. The other event we attempted to predict (as there were still no dates and our crystal ball was a little cloudy that day) was Toulouse. Oh well. Stuff happens.

You could always ask the Millenniums to change their dates to work around everyone else...

... no didn't think so :)

I think what alot of people forget is that there are a great many factors involved in determining when a series of dates can be chosen and what the Millenniums choose to do is just one of them as they in turn have their own factors to contend with.

We can make allowances but I'm afraid we can't wait for ever. It's a tough ol' world and slow kids miss the bus.

Actually, there's quite a number of people, both players and Ref's who work shift patterns and some of them are required to book holidays well in advance, so you can't really say none just because you don't happen know any.

The site I work at has already started to take bookings for April and May, so my availability was needed a couple of weeks ago. And in previous jobs, the availability of key staff like senior techs and the Project Manager needed to be known up to a year in advance for planning of installations etc.

As we're allowing cheering from the side lines this season it should make a noticable difference to the atmosphere at an event
Hatts depending on what is classed as cheering it could also make a noticable difference to outcomes of individual games, also how will this be regulated?
Picture the scene Rob (in cheerleading kit) on the sideline shouting "go Boyley go" pre arranged signal for me to go and mug someone...... highly unlikely i know but, cheering or coaching????

Please dont try and regulate it. Just allow cheering, helping and booing as the crowd sees fit. The xball at campaign was great fun for exactly that reason and any attempt to dictate what is legal and what isn't is dooomed to failure.
IMHO anyway

We have no intention of saying you can say this but not that ect ect.
It will be just like it is for the spectators at an X-ball event.
There will be no on-field coaching (as in coach box) and everyone will have to be behind the tape line.
when they are there anything goes.

So in fact we should be finding coaches with loud voices and some paintball skillz, because coaching is allowd (from outside the netting/ behind the tape line).

Sounds good to me.:)

Rob We need a new coach!!!!!! i dont think we have time to teach you the paintball skillz part........ :D

where did all the skill go?

So basically what your doin is giving everyone bouncy markers and allowing coaching from the sidelines. Is this just not totally taking all the skill out of paintball?? Next we will be aloud to wipe 5 hits per game... :(
