paintball, an extreme sport? hmmm...

ok id like to hear peoples views as paintball as an extreme sport...
people often refer to it as an extreme sport and paintball companys often attempt skate stuff etc. (usually badly )and websites distributing paintball gear often group paintball with skateboarding etc.

i mean x-ball is meant to compare to things such as ice hockey an stuff what with all the quarters an stuff...

but what im wondering is why? i mean why is it extreme? im just curious to what people think about this... i think it would be nice to class it as one but...

anyways your opinions please ladies and gentlemen...

Well if I was to put my member of the general public head on I would say, well getting shot by a gun is as extreme as it gets, isn't it?
I also think that a lot of "new" sports are lumped in the same section, and extreme sports is the latest fad so to have your sport in there is going to get some attention..

i keep pumping the extreme sports angle if only to get peoples minds off camo clad nutters in the woods!

plus some of the moves and dives that take place nowadays you need to be of the same ilke as a skateboarder or snowboarder!

thats a good point...

we can see it as an extreme sport but i dont think average people can... not some of my snowboardin/skateboardin mates anyways... but its cos everyone does assume the whole woods thing...

its near impossible to explain the sport of paintball without draggin sum1 to a tourny or showing them a dvd?!

in answer to that last statement thats a yes, you tell people you play on an sup air field and they think its a bouncy castle, and then you actually explain that they are seperate objects that are inflatable they just think you are weird and ask why

way i see it....... my ass is out there like a mofo gettin shot at.

When I play paintball there are usually 7 people shooting at me with guns that fire 15+ balls a second.

So eh aye......... i d say its pretty extreme like

I thought when things are classed a Extreme sport, it has things in it which can be, Very fast paced, having adrenalin rush, a big factor of getting hurt....etc

you wouldnt have Golf or Snooker being classed as an extreme sport now would u
