Knee and elbow pads all the way.

Elbow pads for diving (not me like ;) ) and more importantly bounces off your forarms.

Knee pads are a must though. Hit a stone/peg or something sliding in and you will know about it. Also reducing impact on your knees will make them last way longer than without any!!

I use knee and elbow pads and deem them to be ESSENTIAL

Planet Eclipse make the best elbow pads in alot of peoples opinions and for £22 they are a bargain.

I have started using Trace knee and skin guards and they are awesome too

If you wanna check them out I think Renton C has some perhaps

But yeah aside from the bounce advantage you will soon realise how worth it this protection is. dont even think of sliding in on your knees or doing a superman without protection or you will regret it

god yes buy some pads.

if the crap on the ground doesn't get you then the metal pegs holding down the bunkers will.

Oh no. You just reminded me of that post a while ago where a guy cut his leg open on a bunker peg. It was pretty grim :( (the picture)

Goggles: Are they worth it?

As has been said mate...it isn't now, you have to worry about...it's later.
Limbs take a hell of a pounding...it might not feel like much, but..when you hit teh ground, at speed on your knees....if you weigh, say 13 stone...then thats like around 20 stone hitting your knees (stone and a half for each leg off the 13, then double the 10 coz its moving)
...very bad.

And for all you childless young blokes out there....do yourselves a favour and GET A BOX!!!

Even if you dont want kids...you really dont want to have to lose one or more of your bollox do you?

I wear a martial arts box...much comfier than a cricket one, and doesnt hinder my play in teh slightest...and..if it does..so what?

How exactly are your team going to thank you for losing your nuts, while making that all important run through that won teh game?

"Yeah...cheers for that, well done...sorry about your balls":D
