pa - banned for swearing?

If someone wipes a hit, or just plays on then a lot of players are gonna shout and swear, its probably better than going over and twatting the guy. I can’t expect anyone to say “excuse me ref, that blighter just wiped a hit. What a spoil sport!!!” especially when the ref isn’t doing anything about it.

I agree that the reffing at the PA is over the top. If you are gonna make the marshals completely unquestionable, at least make sure there are enough refs on the field to do a good job!!!

And stopping players looking at the field after they are eliminated, Jesus how ridiculous. We are playing local tourneys to improve our game, there’s no prizes at stake. How can we improve our team if we don’t get any chance to watch them all day? If a marshal is so suggestible that he can be influenced by voices from the dead box then he shouldn’t be reffing paintball anyway!

I think a better idea would be for all players to sit in the deadbox with a finger over their lips, like in infant school. Or make em do lines whilst in there so they can't see what's going on.

That'll learn em for getting shot out.

yeh look the othe way is stupid, millenium tried it and it was laughed off by everyone - why is pa repeting a mistake?

i think if you swear at a ref you should be penaltied, thats ok, but like sumone said, shouting for ****s sake at on of your own players who got pimped or get off the ****ing field at a hit player who wont walk are all part of the game and increse the entertainment for spectators lol

they have to be facing the naughty corner though. :)

I have to say that its not just PA its all of em, hell, our team even got penalised for 'unappropreate language' on our first local tourney. I know it shouldn't matter whether its my 1st or my 101st tourney but it lost us a place!
How f***ing s*** is that! :p

Fact is, everyone playing in the PA (or any other tournament for that matter) has access to a rule book. By entering, you're accepting being subject to those rules. Ift hey say swearing can lead to a ban then it can. Live with it. If it says all teams have to turn up wearing powder pink then thats the rules and thats what goes. You don't like it, form your own league.

The exercise of any discretion is a different matter and banning a team from a whole series for the odd expletive is very unlikely to be a sensible decision. All I would say is that its unlikely that weve heard the whole of the story. Lets say a team has had endless warning about swearing then swears at a judge and continues to do so...why not ban them? Its their own **** ****ing fault.

No team was ever threatened with being "banned" for swearing so please don't try and represent the situation as something it's not.

Let's keep the perspective here, I've already said on several occasions that the PA is looking to curb abuse not "harsh" language. Swearing is understandable, abuse towards officials is not. If you agree with that philosophy and can adhere to it you're welcome at the PA. If you can't then I suggest you go find another sand pit to play in.

The thread was deleted because it started to get out of hand, degenerating to a level where it was becoming both personal and abusive and I decided it was time to kill the thread and let everyone just calm down and grow up. Preferably both.

Who is it that was banned then Hatts as per the thread?

What was it for so others do not fall foul of repeating the offence?

Dave :)
