Infamous putting in a second team?

On the NPPL site it says a team called Famous is registered, and hitting their name you get directed to the Infamous homepage. Too late to do a Dynasty by trying to get two teams in but for next year it could be cool.

Also, Ironmen changed name to Bob Longs Ironmen (or more changed back) and The Men changed to Ironmen. I thought Bob had won that name battle in court.

Bobby and Infamous both have 2 teams playing. Strange are in. Joy are staying home after getting a result in Malaga, 2 tonton teams are in.
It is going to be interesting for sure.
The reasons for all these new teams at this late stage is (I feel)simply because they have large rosters and everyone wants to play. Its not like they plan to use thier full A-team roster to play for a newly invented B-team or anything like that.
coz that would be just plain wrong....

1 Dynasty 246
2 XSV 196
3 Lanche 194
4 Arsenal 192
5 Infamous 168
6 Joy Division 140
7 Naughty Dogs 129
8 Redz Hurricanes 114
9 Bushwhackers 104
10 Shockwave UK 102
11 Rage 99
12 Brimstone Smoke 98
13 Sedition 92
=14 London Tigers 91
=14 Brass Eagle All-Stars 91
16 Entourage 90
17 Nexus 81

18 Ton Ton Acyd 78
19 Ton Ton Flinguers 79
20 Worms 62
21 Triple Tap 69
22 Jax Warriors 65
23 Bobs 61

I think that that list is quite accurate. There were the same number of teams in Germany, so looking at the points gained there, i worked out how many each theam is on. There may be a few teams with points for malaga who are a few points ouit, but you can get a reasonble look at how things stand.

Thoughts?

Even if Bobs guys win the event though, they are still going to get a maximum of 101 points (50 for winning). I cant see any teams other than them in the buffer zone as TJ put it with any chance of getting those kind of points.

I would be worried if as a team i had 95 points of less. I cant see anyone else capable of getting more than that at the end of the series as things are placed.

I also think that with all the new entries in the mix, where teams finish is going to be a lottery. With over 30 pros allegedly playing it would be a top 16 sunday club cut. Points on sunday will be crucial and could result in some strange placings.

Take Shock Sam - let's say you get a ******* draw and play awful, have bad calls etc and come last - then your score remains the same.

Then let's also say Bobby wins and these teams:

11 Rage 99
12 Brimstone Smoke 98
13 Sedition 92
=14 London Tigers 91
=14 Brass Eagle All-Stars 91
16 Entourage 90
17 Nexus 81

18 Ton Ton Acyd 78
19 Ton Ton Flinguers 79

All place top 12. Then you could potentially get bumped.

In fact, 11 - 16th don't even need top 12 to overhaul you.

I admit you and Whackers look safe, as do Rage and Smoke, but until it's mathematically secure I'd be nervy personally.

I know that it is a possibility, and i would hope it wouldnt happen. But i guess mathematically only the Redz are safe.

I did note that the Bobs could win and move ahead of us, but didnt think that it would be realistic to expect them to do so.

Thankfully we are in the position we are in as a result of our poor performances in HB and Denver where we received 7 and 11 points respectively. It is good because these results are easily passable if we play as we have been in the last three events. In order to get more than 7 points we need to place better than the last few places, which i am confident we will manage to do. We went to HB and crashed badly, but since then have steadily improved, i would hope that that improvement would continue. If there are as alleged going to be 30+ teams there then i think a top 16 position would secure us in the NPPL next year. Also the likes of Strange, another team from the Infamous and Bob's camps and other strong NXL teams like Shock, New York etc... should push a few of the challenging teams out of the running

Will PGI have a UK representative there other than Pete? Or has Ant decided not to go?

I think a top 20 will do you comfortably Sam.

Manning26 will be doing reporting duties along with Pete, and I expect Mr Loco will take time off his busy coaching schedule to help out too.

Another thing to bear in mind is rosters - given that Entourage = Dynasty and other teams have had notable guests at recent events, what's to say that 11 - 18 won't draft in some extra help? Halmones back to help Tontons out? Few Arsenal guys with Tigers? Philly Americans with Brimstone? Who knows who may play with whom?
