Sraight from Rodney:

"Just like the rest of you this came as a pretty big shock to me. I heard about this Saturday night from a text message from BC saying "Did you hear about Ollie?" First thing that came to my mind was something bad. As Oliver has been a friend of mine and business partner over the last 3+ years I was seriously concerned. I called BC's phone and Alex answered.

Alex said to me that Oliver was debating about leaving, Dye had offered somwhere in the neighborhood of a six figure salary and some kind of extra money for a Oliver line of parts. Alex said that the rest of the owner's had offered Oliver on Saturday night $50K out of Dynasty's sponsorship budget.
This plus wins could get him close to the $100K. We would have to wait for the morning. Sunday morning comes and SP steps to the plate calling Oliver at practice and offering the guy to match DYE's deal. If you say that he should leave because of the money and he has no degree and he needs to make his money now is a bunch of.........................BS

SO what is the reason for leaving your friends if the money is there? SP offer to pay him the same as DYE and he gets to win how many events with Dynasty each year? What is the real reason Oliver?

I want to put this out there so people can really understand what is going on.

NOW FOR THE TRUE FANS OF DYNASTY
the rest of the guys are going to need you more then ever. Cheer louder for the rest of the guys. ALEX, RYAN, BC, JOHNNY, YOSH, ANGEL, DANNY, OPIE, TODD, TYLER, QUINCY, HINMAN, ERIC, CODY, MAPP, GARETT and the rest.
The core of the team has been there and won before Oliver. These guys are the best players in the world. The press has never given them their due.

The "Repairman"
Team Dynasty"

Then:

"The way it looks is that he had made up his mind before even telling the rest of the owner's. If you are working with a bunch of your close friends and you get an offer like this, the right thing to do is to tell them about it and see if something can be worked out. Dynasty's first offer was to take money out of our own pockets. Sure it wasn't the same amount but when SP calls him up and offers to match the deal from DYE to keep him on Dynasty. That means he gets to be with his friends and make $100K. Tell me something doesn't smell funny."

Rodney ain't happy

Maybe Rodney wants more from the press? Like massages and free muffin baskets.;)

Obviously Lang is an owner of Dynasty LLC, can he beremoved from that position without the team paying him anything? Orwill they have to buy him out?

I'm just saying that its not as much as it sounds. He can live off of it, but he won't be buying a house any time soon. Thats why I left CA. Too hard to get ahead, even on a good salary.

I agree.... 100K is not that much!!!! Top snowboarders are making a hell of alot more. This guy is the best player in his sport. 100K isn't going to take him very far. And **** this is a business. I would leave my company any day if somebody offered me a 50% increase in my salary. Just as most sportsmen would do as well. And you know Oli is worth alot more. That guy drove JTs sales like nobody else.

What comes to my mind here is Oli wants to grow. Go out onto a new team, really make a difference and stand out. That way his aura and fame will grow, which means the next team to come offer him a deal will offer a 250K. What is more reasonable for a player? Any person with Oli Lang's profile would seek individual growth.

It may not be the best way to express this but maybe Oli didn't want all the Dynasty boys holding him down. He would really like to develop his individual profile rather than the whole team's. And **** this is paintball's superstar he should be able to live comfortably with a decent salary. You know how much money the sponsors have made on this dude's back!!!

In every sport we see the most valued players being paid more than their team mates. It happens everywhere. Oliver staying on Dynasty means he is sort of limited in his growth. Today people don't see Dynasty as the best team in the world because Oliver is part of it. He is just one more name among the Fraige's, Greenspans, Fragozas and Tiljaks. Him moving to a struggling team like the Ironmen, turning it around and winning the NXL or NPPL this year will make him a legend. A little like Valentino Rossi's move to Yamaha....

This move will mean that his value as a player will go up, he is securing his financial future. They said Dave Baines got 60K for his move to XSV? Who knows. In my opinion Oli is worth double than what Dye paid for him. They just made the deal of the century. As soon as the Ironmen start winning with Oli..... Dye sales are going to go through the roof.

I like how you keep repeating my questions Sam, it makes me feel all warm and fluffy inside...:p And the interesting part is not to do with the team's reaction, but with the leagues' - will they allow someone to play for team A whilst owning team B?
