Dunno if this has already been discussed, but if it was, I missed it!

Just got my PGI today (superb issue. Arguably the best so far. Seems like there's more content and less adverts than usual), and I was impressed with what I've read about how X-ball is evolving so far.

My question is this: With a fairly large volume of the worlds finest ballers now playing X_ball against eachother and in a game style which requires total controlled agression to win points in the smallest time possible, do you think that an X-Ball squad (after a solid year of playing X-Ball) would totally out class a top 7-man squad (such as Nexus or Dynasty) in a 7-man format game?

Or are both formats too much of a different style of 'ball to even compare with eachother?

Just wondering what peoples thoughts on this would be....

Oh, that's a fun question.

The NXL players are going to be more fit, so that alone is an advantage. X-ball is suited to set plays, too, I believe. This could lead to some cool tactical developements. Also, the field that the 7 man teams are playing against is a bit less brutal. That could lead the pro teams in seven man with a temptation to soften up.

My feeling? NXL teams will come to 7 man prepared to whomp the few pros left in the S7. It would be nice if they were allowed to... but I think that will break loose soon.

Hmmm, I'd guess that Dynsaty would give them a run for their money. Though while NXL teams are used to winning points fast, they are also used to loosing games fast without it mattering so they take risks and any 7-man team worth its salt will exploit this.

But we'll never really know untill they are allowed to play each other (or hell freezes over...).

Watch out for that Oakland Assasin who has formed his own Am team...

And I guess the former will never happen due to the whole "Ownership" thing. Contracts have a tendency to suck bum....

Good thought though Richard. Thanx.
