there is one small difference between the Un and the LON... America joined this time round. I agree with what you're saying, essentially the UN is becoming a sattelite for Team America: World Police (literally). It makes no sense though that Israel has suddenly, after joining the UN days after it was founded, decided to defy Big Kofi. Israel also do not have the political power to manipulate the UN in the way that the US has.
The USA does need to, contrastingly to your statement, acknowledge the UN in its decisions as a matter of sheer courtesy, whether the yanks are going to comply or not

I agree with what you're saying to an extent, though I think that if America wanted to do something badly enough they would pay little heed to the UN...

I see what you mean about Israel, but I think the question you have to ask yourself is "is this a decision undertaken solely by Israel?" do they have backing from another world power? or even superpower?

I think the damage that Israel could do themselves is fairly limited, if they are, however, being used as some kind of proxy by a larger, stronger power, then I think we could be in for a rough time...

From 6 pm Friday thru Sunday night go crazy. On Monday morning don't be disappointed if it all disappears--and, who knows, if something is truly entertaining or interesting it might stay awhile longer.
;)

PS you git; bit selfish wanting the world to end on the day before I go away & 3 months before Tom's 18 :D just because you haven't bought a card! Good job you're not the antichrist eh!!

*squints at Raffles*

how stupid are we all gonna feel if the world does end?

Thinking about it - what does that actually mean? the world ending that is. Its a rather vague notion dont you think? Technically the world wouldn't end on that date. It would still exist, we just wouldn't. But then maybe some of us would survive? So even then the world wouldn't of ended...
