now dont take this the wrong but do you remember a post a while back that said "it is going to be so much harder next season because of the team's that will be coming up.

Now with that in mind and with the team's that are trying to buy spot's i.e the russian's and other big hitter's you said it would be so much harder and you would create your own destiny in europe i would say take the money and run.

BUT the amount of coverage you would get if it did go big in the state's and let's face it if it goe's big time over there the rest of the world will follow suit to the u.s. then i say stick with it and ride the wave

And good luck because i think you will be getting more and more offer's

I got a sleeve.......and something's up it :)

And trust me Markie, whatever I do, it will be what's best for Nexus and not my pocket otherwise I would be taking the money and running right now :)

me too

Here's my e-mail........... just kidding as well.... Jeff vacation?? Bahamas??????

I think Miami is going to be very interesting:cool:

Ok here is a theory for ya. If the AA's and the Russians, and Strange all bought spots, and Shock and the other top semi pro teams are moving up.. If you took the $150,000 took half and used it to fund a semi pro team next season, wouldnt you have a good shot at making the top 3 in Semi pro next season and start all over the year after?????

but i know nexus will allway's come first but do you think now that the nppl have the espn deal that they wont bother coming over to europe for the 2 event's they had said they were going to do and do you think it would have a knock on effect to the m.s. ether in a good way or bad

I don't know - I think Pete's always displayed a healthy awareness of his team's ability. They're a damned good team, but throw 10 American NXL teams into the mix, and .. well, that's just tough. I just don't see how any European team, considering the way things are shaping up this year, would be making a good bet if they expected to last past next season in that environment without some wholesale roster changes, and I think Pete seems to be the kind of person more interested in maintaining his group of players than getting rid of half of them for maintaining a pro spot.

I think Pete gets the best of both worlds if he takes the $150k and has the best European team in semi-pro next year. Keeps his team of players, still gets to be the best of Europe, and who knows, if he does well, earns a Pro spot for 2007.

I don't know... I think Nexus could probably hang. Maybe not top of the pile, but hell, Rage was in the top 4 once this year.

Also, although I am sure Coach Robbinson is very loyal to his guys, I suspect he is also loyal to Nexus in the abstract. When you say you will do 'what is best for your team', that often means 'at the expense of any particular member'. When that team was formed, they had open tryouts, Pete didn't just call the guys he thought oughta be there.

Markie, as far as I know the exact arrangements for next year haven't been decided upon and I think to a certain extent they are contingent upon what happens with these integration talks.

If PP (NPPL) are serious about globalizing (and I know they are) then they will need to look at having some presence over here in Europe, what form that takes has yet to be sorted.

The ESPN deal will tend to refocus their attention on Stateside proceedings but I'm not sure they will completely take their eye off the Euro ball as securing first steps toward globalizing coupled with an ESPN deal seems to me to be complimentary rather than distracting.
Nah, it all fits in quite well when I come to think about it but as for what it will do for Euro ball if and when they do come across?
Well if they do, there are two possibilities, they either do it with the Millennium or not.
Worrying times for the Millennium Board if they sit down and consider what might happen if they don't secure some sort of alliance deal quite quickly because sure as ****, if there is any real money in this ESPN deal (or even potentially) then the NPPL ain't gonna be too attracted to sharing any of it if they come to Europe.
If they have the cash, then the NPPL ain't gonna be looking for no Euro partners.

The only reason (in my opinion) the NPPL will hook up with the Millennium in any primary stage is for convenience purposes alone and not for any mid to long term partnership agreement.
For the Euro baller, the pros already part of the higher order (Joy Division and Nexus) the future looks good for them if they can hang in there but for the rest of the pack, things are not so clear but I can’t see it being a bad thing.
If the NPPL and Millennium combine, coooool, I think we can all see the benefits of that one in us being part of a new world order (excuse my cliché) and if they don’t combine and set up in opposition, well, the Euro baller is gonna get a choice in a competing market place which generally means a higher standard of product than those already present.
When I look at what’s going on at the moment, there is one huge factor that troubles me more than anything and that is the working relationship between the NPPL and PP.
I believe it is this that is key to our ultimate direction.
When the NPPL was first born in 2003, it was a marriage made in heaven, the problem with some marriages is, as time goes on, differing agendas can sometimes flourish and it is the management of these differing agendas that dictates the ultimate direction in which the partnership goes.
I don’t like unpredictability in any guise especially when the fate of paintball is held hostage by it.

i am lucky enough to have spoken to a few of the top pros in a long chat about the furture of paintball and there opion is that paintball in it's form at the moment will never hit the masses because people will just not get it,and in there word's there just playing paintball and not really fussed what happen's and if it doe's then that's a bonus

What do you think? i have not been around long enough to really know what the score is but when we sat around talking about it i thought to myself this could be it, this is as good as it's going to get.

We (Nexus) did a 10 min film sectoin for ESPN where they followed us about as we did our field walking, we talked to them afterwards and what they had planned...I ain't selling for anything less than........hmmmmmmmm.............I ain't selling :)

Oh by the way, Duffster, Baca, whoever, integration talks back on....looking better maybes....a little bit of optimism creeping into proceedings.......
