Oh my, I have just had someone bring my attention to this thread !!
Well Mr Kalifornikation, I think a few of the other posters have already highlighted a lot of the things us Brits / Euros have done in the US.
It is indisputable the modern game that you Americans now excel at would not be where it is now without the likes of Ged Green and WDP who pushed back the frontiers of gun design (Angel) and tournament promotion (Hyperball and Huntingdon Beach ).

I think however you are referring to our performances on the field rather than off and on that basis, I think you have a point.
As somebody said, the UK Preds kicked a lot of Yank ass in the early 90's establishing themselves as one of the top three teams in the world but this was obviously the woodland game.

The modern game has left us floundering as you guys just raped SC Village and similar fields of young talent as our talent pools contracted.
We may well play on a level playing field but the environments where our respective teams evolve are far from level.
So instead of coming on here dissing us Euros, give us a bit of respect and understanding.
There are some people over here who know what it takes to try and get to the top and are doing just that, it just takes a bit of time to overcome the obvious advantage you guys have in the numbers game.
Coz I tell ya one thing, you guys may well have the teams at the moment, but over here, we have some great thinkers, who given time, can transform their designs into great teams who will eventually be able to compete with you Yanks, even Americans as successful as yourself......by the way, what did you say you have won ?
And by the way, you said you met me and my missus in HB, where and when ?

Searching for the pro-tour....:S
Our American Bro' has gone very quiet, must be busy inventing a new game format, designing a kick-ass gun that will operate at 5 psi, and helping to Train Miami Effect.

Or perhaps his Mum has told him to get off the computer 'cos its past his bed time!!!!;)

the main reason i think for the lack of 'amazing' teams from britain is the fact that America has a huuuuuuuuge pool of players thus increasing the chance of having amazing players, the only place my theory doesnt work is in Russia where they have a pool of like 8 guys....and have 8 pro ballers i guess!!!
It's not about the size of the tallent pool, it's about the size of the industry backing teams. If someone had the money to train a brit team like the russian legion gets trained, then Brit ball might come back on top.

The problem is; and i agree with Kalafornication on this one:
Players in Britian talk about paintball a lot, but don't actually get out and do it. I think Robbo is on the right track with Nexxus, but is anyone else following suit?

And another thing to consider is that paintball isn't as culturally acceptable her in england as it is in the USA. It's really hard to get people interested in playing paintball at a competitive level over here.

So the way i see it, there's only two ways forward; Uber teams trained by professional coaches, and backed by deep pockets;
Or a booming industry that has thriving professional tournament scene, with large tallent pools to cherry pick from.

I have no idea which way it will go, but if we don't go one way or the other, England will be left behind.

Trying our hardest and I think it shows, at least the comments we've had back after Uttoxeter and the scoreboard seem to suggest so! ;)
