Nearly all our the players from all our 3 teams live/work in Greater London. Our training ground (Mayhem) and major sponsor (Smart Parts) are again in Greater London.

You have guys from as far a field as Guernsey all the way up to Scotland. Your training ground is in Nottingham and Planet is in Manchester.

The sole reason the team wants the London tag is simply that it is the capital and worth more in terms of profile and marketing - which acorrding to the rule you can do.

My point about marketing over geography is valid.

where would nexus be this year tho if the RL had not played the last NPPL for them last season
would nexus have had the points to play pro NPPL this year
fair deal thay found a way to bend the rules in there favour
this my just my veiw and i am sure that i will be slagged of for saying this
as i know peaple on both teams i am going to feel sorry for the tigers if thay have to change there name for the NPPL because of this rule
as the tigers have been called london longer then nexus

Yeah cos no team has ever used guest players before in the series
No rules 'bent', no foul, end of!

I agree that it sucks for Tigers having to change thier name, but I don't see the need for it has to come down to a verses thing or a'who has the most valid claim' to the name.

Your point is NOT valid. Granted that the London tag is a profile and marketing factor but let me say it again,

Robbo, the team owner and coach is from London, which in its own rights is more than enough reason to go with London.
Then on top of that you've got Jamie Brandon, Tommy Gun, Jamie Abbott, Dan Sanchez, Dave Copsey, and last but not least myself.

So please dont try and tell me that we chose London purely as a marketing tool without Nexus actually having any ties to the London name, we got plenty.

The fact that this wasnt sorted out by the powers that be in the NPPL a loooooong time ago is crazy and has caused some unnessasary headaches I'm sure.

Yes it should of been sorted out at the begining of the season or since we are so far into 05 left until next season.

They're reasonable people and want what's best in the big picture but maybe they'll cut some slack and allow cities that are larger than XX million and/or are capitols to be allowed an additional team that qualifies based on reasonable criteria. NY, LA, CHI, Paris, etc could also have two teams, for example.

I certainly don't want to make enemies with Nexus cause I think both teams are great bunches of people whom I've enjoyed seeing develop to who they are now, but I think they ought to allow both teams that carried the name thoughout last season. And same for Stockholm Ignition if they so desired because Stockholm is a capitol city.
