So what happens if the teams end up in different spots on the rankings at the end of the year? Does Nexus have to surrender the city of London? Dumb rule. Let them all be from LA. They are all from LA.

Then again... paintball players are citizens of the world. So maybe ascutt has it right.

I would pick some name like Pascani Tigers. Or the DesMoines Tigers. If they want to strip you of the name you printed and have worn for a year plus, then take a town name with about 200,000 or fewer people in it that no one has ever been to. Players unite!

Team Names have nothing to do with where the players are from but on what area the owners of the team want to represent.

If all the UK teams want to call themselves London (insert name here) let them, and if the teams in the USA want to have LA in their name, let them.
I would be very happy to see Manchester Shockwave, Manchester Nexus and Manchester Tigers.

Oh Shame about Chelsea........ Honest :)

Tigers were definately first to use the 'London' tag - wasn't it even in one of the news posts or a bit in PGI (something to do with the whole world going regional name mad or something).

However, shame the Tigers aren't from the continent or they could be...

'Hungary Tigers' :)

Getit?

Hungry - Tigers??

.....I'll get my coat....

Yeah, dumb rule we'll bring it home for 2006. Then again I bet another rule springs up at the end of 05, something like 'names chosen in 2005 are fixed from now until the end of the world' :(

I think it is implied that from 2005 onwards the names are locked unless a team wants to move to a city not yet represented. The ranking thing from 2004 i guess is only there to solve the problems this year.

I really doubt they will open it up at the end of each season and and let teams pick new cities based on ranking, if they did they may as well do it after every event....

they need to clarify that then because is says:

23.01 Professional Pro Teams will choose a City name to be associated with there current team name. A Professional Team can not share the same City name as another Professional Team. (For the 2005 season City Team names will be determined based on the 2004 overall team rankings)

Nothing about beyond 2005, like I say another rule is bound to spring up ensuring you get to keep London despite how high we rank this year.

Good job you left off Hokkaido, that's already gone.

Can't they be Canvey Island Tigers? Sorta like London's equivalent of Statten Island, just with more Chav's and less Mac10's? ;)
