Hehe, brilliant description The white one especially looks like a speed boat.

As a rabid Rotor evangelist I was all set to slag the Spire off, but I have to say that looks-aside, I'm really impressed with the design and wouldn't mind giving one a try.

I also hope that is has an external battery door, would be a pain to have to empty it and remove the entire tray to just change the batteries.

As WildWayz pointed out you have to remove that lid/view bit and then remove the tray and at the bottom of it is the battery compartment, at least it has velcro to keep them in place.

I thought it was more of a Simulator ride when i first seen it

Thing is batteries are going to last you a fair time anyways, especially if you use lithium.
