The 4 intelli kit (when released) will only supply a signal to fire, not power also (as per IR3).

Easiest thing is to just get a Halo or Evo II (y or z board model). Both work perfectly well with a Speed and you are unlikely to outshoot either...

Other than a good ball detent, what is necessary to get good performance out of an IR3 with a Halo ??

My HALO plus IR3 = Blender

I have a new ball detent, perfect paint match, tried sanding my COPS rod, tried changing bolts, tried raising dwell, tried lowering and raising LPR, and still, all it does is chop. Certain IR3's work fine with them right out of the box, others won't work at all.

Or more accuratey some Hao's work with them and some don't!

I tried two Halo's that made nothing but soup on my IR3. I gave in with Halo's for a couple of months and then tried with another (all were TE software by the way) Halo as so many people told me it SHOULD work. The third one worked perfectly, everything was stock on the IR3.

Try another Halo...

I'm on my second one already, and it's getting pricy at $150 a shot (I bought mine straight from Odyssey to avoid having to wait 5 years to get it), maybe the third time really is a charm though. I might just sell mine and get another one to try if I can't get it working.

So what your saying is it might work, but if it doesnt I cant fix it. Instead I have to buy another halo, or another IR3 or both

Sorry John, but that's about the size of it. In my experience it is not the marker that causes the problems, it's the Halo. Like I said, I got through 3 halo's until I found one that worked. The 'dodgy halo's chopped REALLY bad on my IR3, and also chopped to a degree on a Impulse too. However when I got one that worked, it worked like a charm. Think there are just some dodgy Halo's knocking about

Easiest thing to do is get an EVO II - they always work fine...

Ive already got an Evo2 and a Halo on the way.


What was actually wrong with the Halo? Was it pushing too hard?
Or is it them pesky gun pixies again?

I got to use my halo on saturday and had no problems at all on my IR3 or lvl X mag(so far).

I now realise why people love halos so much, although the max rate of fire is similar to my intelifeed egg its the responsiveness that you notice.

With the egg it will easily do more than 15bps but you have to hit a rhythm at first untill it gets up to speed, with the halo its like instant balls all the time.

Anyway im selling it to a teammate cos its too heavy for me to use in game
