As you are legally responsible for everything you say on a public forum then it does hold water. Plus the fact that the disclaimer is placed before the banner advert, therefore giving it more precedence. The disclaimer is merely an acknowledgement that I take responsibility for what I say on this forum because it is my opinion and is not necessarily an opinion dictated by my team or team sponsors

ok here's the next question....

Are sponsors in sigs really needed? Lets face it, 90% of the people on here are paintball nobodies. your pride in showing you have sponsors means nothing to your sponsors more than likely. It says to me that your an egotisitical (spelling) SOB  who glorifies themselves and revels in the fact they they have sponsors and the littler man doesn't.

And the argument that you a representing your sponsors in my mind holds no weight because i nor anyone else give a rats arse who your sponsors are. Just coz you use their products doesn't mean im'a go out and buy them.....

just trying to keep things interesting in the forums - it's gone a little stale of late :)

Whatever any disclaimer might say, people do associate members of the forums with their team - otherwise why bother to put your team name in your sig in the first place?

I have been at tournaments and overheard industry suppliers discussing the potential sponsorship of a team and turning them down because a high profile team member has slagged off their products on the forums, and I for one certainly wouldn't blame them in those circumstances.
You then get the argumentative people who are constantly whinging on the boards. Other people may not know what the real name of "superslug" is so when the team he/she plays for are at an event and have a real reason to complain, others (especially refs) will assume it's just that "superslug" guy sounding off like he/she always does on the forums and not consider that there might be a real problem.

Also, if a few different members of the same team all post rubbish the team does tend to get the reputation of being full of idiots!:p

Just because I have my sponsors in my signature does not make me a egotistical. I also do not do it to make the people without sponsors feel smaller.

I do it because I am proud to be sponsored by these companies, I am (little) advertising such companies and I do not mean that because I am sponsored Dye gear, other players will go out and purchase it. If you are arguing against having sponsors in a players signature on here, why not argue against a player wearing sponsors logos on their jersey? They both share the same purpose after all.

Therefore no real point changing the name to Motorola PANL
because your argument holds water here too.

A signature is nothing more than an advert
you either respond to it or not
Nothing wrong with advertising the people who do a little or a lot in aid you to play - note you used to be a proud example of that until earlier this year :D

Anyway if any of the team say anything that is too out of line someone is always there to ask them to be more considerate ;)
We do respect our sponsors, but do not necessarily share all thier views:p

yes but the fact that you are known on the field and your face is known to people is a different matter to the fact that on the interent many people try to remain anon... if your anon, why bother advertising?!

DW all of my sigs have never had an advert for a paintball company in them. I dont believe it makes any sense....and trust me....there was no pride. i got butt fcuked.....

If im well known on the paintball tournament scene, then everybody who knows me will know im " weedave " of the boards.
So not exactly anonymous .

Hasn't really got to do with the person, its the team he plays for on here. If I just joined Dynasty who are obviously well known on the tournament scene and are successful, I wouldn't exactly have to be well known on the boards. People would notice the Team name, not my name.

Same If i was playing my first tournament with Dynasty, people wouldn't give a damn who I am, they would just notice the jersey and kit and be like " Hey theres a dynasty player. "

As i already stated, sponsors mentions in signatures has the same effect as logos do on team jerseys.

no mate you misunderstand my point - i mean the majority of people, not just yourself...lets face it, there are very few people on thses forums who show their real name in their posts..... Many people hide behind their avatars when spouting crap....and many people like i said before are not well known to each other on the circuit....

and 'hey theres a dynasty player, who is it?!' would be more the correct wording....

DW your thinking of glorykid, i designed most of his sigs....

Look at my sig again then
I give out my real name and have no problem doing so.

We're more or less on the same boat, just disagree on this stuff.
If a player wants to advertise his sponsors, its completely his choice. If anybody doesnt like this, all they have to do is to go into settings and turn off " show signatures ".
