I just dont want my views/opinions reflecting onto my team/sponsors as they are not their views/opinions.
Yeah, but they DO..... it really isn't quite as simple as that. For example, if after a hard day's marshalling I went down the pub, got lashed and started a fight with someone while still wearing a Skirmish top it would not do my job or my boss any favours. No amount of excuses to people bearing witness of 'this has nothing to do with where i work' would hold any weight.

By choosing to display your sponsors and team in your sig your are automatically a representative of them. Your sponsors help YOU out, i think it is only fair that you help them too. There are many teams without any support who'd be happy to get some, and wouldn't reflect badly on their assistance. I agree with the above notion, if you want to be an ******* and slag off people/products independently then drop the association with your team in your sig.

Why, Potter, you're making sense again. Best stop now before the kids ostracize you.

For the most part it's also just plain silly to toss in some sig disclaimer as there aren't a dozen peeps on this forum with anything actually controversial to say.

I have my sponsors in my signature as it is advertisement (very little obviously) and I try to represent my sponsors as best I can.

When I said views/opinions, I do not mean as in to slag a product off (however I may criticize a product) or to slag somebody off but just simple things such as I prefer Y format over X format. I prefer Y league over Z league etc.

Although you made a valuable point, you took my argument to the extreme.

BS - damn right they do....if you choose to put your team name and sponsors in your sig and slate their products or anything else or think something is better than your sponsors stuff - then it does represent you and yours....

discuss....

But that doesn't really hold water when your sig image is bigger, bolder and far more eye-catching than a silly little disclaimer does it? I mean unless you look carefully, you're not going to even see it are you?
