Motorbikes?

As of January 19th 2013 There will be 3 x types of licences and TEST categories under the new rules,
" A1 " for =125`s ... " A2 " for up to 47 bhp and " A " for unrestricted machines.
all this is also under review and could change again in 2018 because of those that wish to have what I call a FULL Licence which is now going to be called an " A " licence has to be taken on a bike that has AT LEAST 54 bhp, everything is on hold at the moment until 2018 when it goes up to 67 bhp.
Looks like you Can`t get a " A " Licence until your 24 now.
Even if you pass your test but Not yet 24 you can only ride a bike ... Qualified yes, and at 21 Yes, but de-restricted .

Definitely, I think its just the fact that there is less chance of them mangling themselves in a car. either way I'd still like to see a simillar restriction for cars. Then again its not like most young new drivers can afford to get behind a higher performance car anyway.
I passed mine in 1981 on a CB250N - honda super (wet) dream
Just a few months before the 125cc limit for learners was introduced

The trouble is :- the Engines have evolved and are way faster now with some bikes now doing 200 + mph, Corrr when I look back to my Bantam , Sunbeam, Gold Flash,Cotton twin ( this was a great bike that not a lot of people knew about ) ,Trophy,Panther,Ariel,and a whole host of others Not realizing any of them would become valuable one day, I choke at the thought.
anyway, the whole testing process now seems an absolute dogs dinner for those wanting / needing a motor cycle licence and leaning heavily against encouraging anyone learning to ride a bike, how many 50 year olds on 125`s are going to get wiped out by youngsters in Subaru Imprezers

Bikes are actually a little slower than when I passed my test, it was the time of the speed race amougst the Japs before they settled on 186 mph as being reasonable for a top speed. (health and safety nonsense).

a little late to the party, but theres my 2011 daytona 675 when i first got it brand new in april 2011

OK Now that`s what I call a Proper bike and would smoke most of what I`ve had ( Triumph 675 ) have you thought about messing around with different size cogs for acceleration or top end speed ?? remember = one at the front is worth two at the back, personally I wouldn`t touch anything as I think this is a Jewel as it is.
