Hawkins,

Sorry to hear about this. Something that is well known is examiners have a quota to hit, they have to fail a certain number each week, or they look like they are too easy and are soon out of a job.

I took my test first time, Was perfect did absolutely everything right... took my helmet off to be congratulated to receive a better luck next time handshake. Aparently I didnt take that crucial last look over my shoulder on the U-turn and by this I dont mean I didnt look, it means while already made the turn I didnt look whilst pulling away ????

Next time round I had the same guy... and I was a mess, all over the shop, almost dropping my bike at one point. When I was sure he had failed me twice he congratulated me... When I joked saying I can ride better then that normally he said "I bloudy hope so".

Just the luck of the draw... I was lucky to get the same man twice.

if you drive perfectly you will pass. Instructors can't make stuff up to make sure you dont pass. Surely if that is the case issues of sex, race, religion and age can be thrown into the reason why you didnt pass if they make up a rubbish reason for you not passing?

Sorry if it is actually the case but my driving instructor said rumours like that float around for example you pass earlier in the month because they criteria gets harder for you to forfill towards the end etc etc

jack:)

nice to know some of you guys are in the same boat as me, Yeah I had a few days of training to get rid of all my habbits which really helped. gotta say dont ride your own bike if you have a 125 riding something you dont know keeps you more aware, what i found anyway.. After i got the bad news i went for the longest ride to blow off some steam..

anyways booked for the 15 of april last chance before the new test. . . it was a guest examinor so hes gone back to erith. woo !

Got to agree with Jack here sorry Hawkins. Examiners job is to examine all people and apply the same rules to each, they get tested every month to make sure they are examining folowing the correct procedure and they dont have quotas to hit to fail people thats just a myth perpetuated by peolpe who dont pass.

I passed my Bike test 8 years ago with 1 minor and that was doing 34ish in a 40 zone as I want going with the flow of traffic so thats a common one to get. Just make sure you look over your shoulder at every moment and dont just have a quick glance make sure he notices it (saying that I though Bike examiners followed on a bike, they did in my day)

Good luck with the next one mate and make sure you get yourself a nice safe bike.

he did say everything else was spot on which left me even more shocked that i didnt pass, but hey ho ill pass next time... looking to get a honda cb400 or something in the same style, love the sound of an inline 4 :)
