I just tested this. I used the calculator on my computor, asked it to generate an answer for 750 + 250, and it gave me the answer of 1000. I tried it again twice, using the basic 500 + 500, and then even 1367 - 367, and both times it gave me the answer of 1000. I'm now confident that my computor does not think that 1000 is 1024. You should get yours checked, or change your post to :

Of course I should have said the computer has a hard time dealing with 1000.
It can do it, on the calculator.



Look at your hard drive capacity in windows.

If the number in gigabytes is a billion times the number in bytes, then your computer really can deal with 1000 effectively.

More likely, your hard drive space in gigabytes is the space in bytes 1024 / 1024 / 1024.
