DMA fields

Nick, why is it too late now to change the fields for DMA?
Surely if, as the designers of DMA, you now feel that the fields could be better/different based on player feedback, they SHOULD be changed.

We still have more than a week to meet the 2 week deadline, and whilst I do appreciate that it takes time and hard work, perhaps you could consider it.

Also, is ramping DEFINITELY 'in' for the whole of MS?

Cheers

Hmmm

People keep saying too many bunkers makes it difficult to move.

I honestly think that is a misconception, founded in the fact that players are new to these types of designs.

More bunkers mean shorter distances between bunkers - and smaller gaps that defensive teams are able to lock down.

That SHOULD make it easier to move!

I believe once teams get used to the new types of designs, they will find it is easier to move than it was before.

BUT... that is ofcourse all theory... time will show

To move with fewer bunkers put more on the player’s "athletism" and skills.
To move with more bunkers allows slower not as good players make a lot of moves also.
So it depends if we want to even it out more or make the better teams win more constantly.
In 7 man it is still some coincidence witch teams that wins.......

I agree. There should be a balance in the distance between props wherein there is a definite advantage to moving forward combined with a very real risk that requires speed, good timing and great team coordination.

Another point that I've already mentioned before is the inability to ref fields with more-than-usual props and the usual number of refs (usuallly eight). I really appreciate that in an ideal world field design has to be solely for the game but the fact is more props means more opportunity to cheat if we have the usual quantity of refs.

On the Chronic field at Maxs there were definitely incidents of wiping and playing on that didn't get caught that happened only because we could not cover many of the zones. Our infield refs had to rove too much and try to cover several zones which often resulted in no ref covering the inside of the snakes at critical moments. It was very frustrating and we changed our zoning a couple of times trying to improve it.

However lame it may sound, too many props means more un-watched body sides and tends to reward the cheating teams. It is great that Millennium has stepped up with a much greater quantity of pro refs but I don't think it is realistic to assume they are going to spend even more money and provide ten rather than eight field refs.

I really enjoyed the fields.

There were a little too many obstacles. It was like a forest and you tend to get a little lost but that makes for alot of blind spots you have to make sure you keep your eye on. Lots of different strategies were applicable and I saw some teams get really creative. It was not your classic field were everybody is taking the same key bunkers. There were lots of little variations and it made for some interesting games.

Ok you couldn't make the snake off the break but a short stop at the 40 bunker and then you were in. We made the snake every time and its true we hit alot of guys trying to take it off the brake.

As to the 15 BPS bullsh*t I think that its the complete contrary. Now its not just the big teams dealing out 25 BPS full auto punishment. Hey in last year's Millennium with the bouncing rule crap our team was left with a bunch of frying pans instead of guns. So we get refs emptying a case of paint every game to try and bounce are guns and then we see teams on the field ripping 30BPS full auto.....? Until there is no reliable way to check gats, this is alot better.
