2 weeks to the start of Millennium - season and no official rules available yet.

When are the rules going to be published?
or
Do we use NPPL rules this season?
or
Do we go by the 2003 rules?

No one ever take notice of them, so i think the Mill have decided to remove all rulz and regs and let us kill eachother and get it over with.......;)

Me thinks these are what we will go by until further notice.

It looks like we will be using the latest edition of the Millennium rules, as published on the Millennium website, with a few revisions that will be announced, for Maxs Masters.

The judges' and the captains' meetings will therefore be even more important than usual.

I hope there is not too much change on rules regarding equipment. It makes you fell so stupid to show up with wrong-color jerseys or loaders etc..

But ok.... I assume its those 1.2 rules from last year that count.

There is an on-going discussion right now regarding exactly what the rules are going to look like. You'll see new information about that on the Millennium website as soon as we get it sorted and I'll post it here.

I don't know yet for sure, but I recommend finding alternatives to any uniforms that might be regarded as orange or pink.

But no use getting into a big discussion about it now. We'll know for sure soon.

Just a friendly reminder as teams prepare for Maxs Masters:

1. The judges' and captains' meetings will be very important because we will need to explain a few significant things about the rules.

2. Be prepared to NOT BE ALLOWED to play with clothing that has padding in any but the allowed places. It doesn't matter how some other leagues are interpreting that rule; we will interpret the rule just the way it is written. As of today it isn't 100% clear what the rule will be; JUST BE PREPARED with alternative clothing if you have, for example, jerseys with padding in the shoulders.

3. Pink and orange in any exposed clothing MIGHT NOT BE ALLOWED so be prepared in the same way as what I wrote in point 2.

4. Be prepared to have your tops tucked in.

As I said in my last post in this thread, the Millennium board is now discussing exactly what the rules will be for Maxs Masters and we will post the results as soon as everything is decided.

I just wanted to make sure those who read this are forewarned about the above possibilities.

Dear Mr Law and Order....

I thank you very much for this warning - but I hope that you also have other channels to spread your word. It is not so that every attendant to MaxMasters is reading this forum and therefore gonna know about these "rulechanges".

Having rulechanges 2 weeks before is not a good thing, and I hope you still are sticking with the usual 7-man in Div2, so that we don't have to bring more players ;)

Cheers from Norway

I learned an interesting lesson about "law and order" in your country a few years ago. I had been used to driving in Sweden where many, if not most, drivers drive over the speed limit but under the limit where they would have their license suspended if caught. So typically the average driver drives around 85 in a 70 zone. One day I was driving in Norway on a long, boring stretch where the speed limit was 70 and noticed that ALL the cars were driving between 70 and 75. Why? Because the law was being enforced with speed-control cameras. If you went more than slightly over the limit your picture would be taken and you would get an expensive fine sent to you in the mail.

What's this got to do with pink and orange and padded shoulders? Maybe not so much directly except that when people know the laws and rules are enforced consistently there tends to be more respect for them and those who enforce them.

If you or I think some of the rules are stupid then we should work to get them changed. Meanwhile just adjust and move on to the real issue of playing some winning paintball. Conversely, if you drive in a place where the speed limits are strictly enforced, and that enforcement doesn't have to do with who you are or the whims of the law enforcement officer, then put in a CD and enjoy the scenery.

Just another point that concerns the EXL and Open X Ball:

We in Millennium X Ball may not interpret or apply the rules exactly the same way as NXL. For example, we MAY NOT allow padding in the wrong places just because at the moment NXL may. Or we may be tougher on barrel socks than they may be at the moment. Ditto orange and pink in exposed clothing (including headbands).

Therefore don't expect us to change our rulings just because someone says, "But they allow it in NXL!"

Just fair warning; be prepared.
