Ok this is stupid! This sport has been around for how many years!! Well I have been playing for twenty years, and find it hard to understand why something as simple as a roster for 2006 can’t be sorted out.

Why is it so hard for the millennium organizers to sort out just five tournaments? A post was put up at the end of this year to give details of the forthcoming year i.e. 2006. I thought this was great, because as the administrator for a team I could start planning the travel arrangements and booking flights. Now many of us are in the situation where we have to re-book flights and accommodation at extra cost. Surely this should have been sorted out a year in advance? If the details were not confirmed this should have been clearly noted! Needless to say we are not amused!!!

Why have the dates and locations been changed just three months before the start of the new season? If any of us did this sort of thing in our jobs we’d be sacked!

Spoken like someone who has never had to find and book a location suitable for a paintball tournament. And pay for it.

Only those of us who are dumb enough to book travel arrangements before an event date and location is confirmed. Having been playing paintball for apparently 20 years, you should know better.

Because that's the way life works. Expecting event dates and locations to be determined a year in advance is just not realistic, and not the way the world works. You know that airlines can cancel your flight at any time? You know that hotels can overbook? You know that many locations want 10's of thousands of dollars paid before they'll book it for you? You know that people actually have to fly around and visit locations before they book them?

What are you expecting to happen, people to fly all over europe in 6 weeks and find all the locations they need, for when they need them, fo prices that are reasonable?

The solution here is easy: Stop booking your travel arrangements a year in advance based on a guess of where events are going to be. Two months notice is PLENTY of time to get reasonable rates on travel.

well if you no so much you would know that they did say the dates and venues had been comfirmed

http://67.19.5.132/vb/showthread.php?s=&threadid=50510

so that's why some of us have been trying to book travel and hotels

This is my first year playing aboard just wanted to get head's up on thing's so that my year is sorted and i can worry about other things

not dissing you chi but dont go calling people dumb when they are just trying to think ahead

Indeed, shame on Millenium for not putting in the usual "We're going to move if NPPL stomps our date" disclaimer.

But I'm still amazed at the travel nazis who insist on booking travel 4 months in advance and then get upset when things have to change due to whatever reason out of the league's control.

Ok how about spoken like a man who fly’s all over the world at the drop of a hat because he is required to do so, and also has to deal with the roster of 28,000 people in 32 diffent locations a year in advance and deal with the ad hock events that are dropped on his desk at anytime.

What’s dumb about booking flights in advance when you go on to this forum? And what do you find a list of confirmed dates “fun that” and if you want more sites that have these date just go and have a look on the web.

And yes I should know better then to believe anything that is put up on the forum and anything that comes out of the millennium organizers seeing as we have found out they change thing at the drop of a hat.

As to you saying it is not realistic to plan a year in advanced, why then are other business in the world and that is what paintball is a business and a sport able to plan a head. And why would anyone leave only six weeks to fly over Europe in six weeks that is plain stupid a little bit of forward planning may help and what about trying to talk to all the other major tournament organizers and getting the date sorted.

And my last comment on this is being called a Travel NAZIS I take umbrance to being called a NAZIS[

1. Only in paintball. Most other sports manage to sort out scheduals and locations well in advance !

2. No, and who has to 'fly round europe' anyway. Each promoter is running an event IN THEIR OWN COUNTRY ! And who said they have to do it in six weeks ?? I've just done a reece for work on a location we're looking to go to in 2007 !!!! No one is stoping the promoters looking well in advance to sort locations out. They have all been running their events for a number of years and the decision to move around is normaly their own ! And who cares if a MS clashes with an NPPL / PSP. It only effects a few teams max and does not effect the 80% of paying customers !!

3. No its not ! Don't de-nigh you could sort it in 2 monthes, we normaly have to but that is not 'plenty' of time. Two of our players missed last years campaign cos they'ed booked holidays based on the origonal dates !!!
How long do you book your holiday / time off in advance for ??? Shift rosters etc are oftern done well over 6 weeks in advance so 2 months is not PLENTY !!
