I have come to the conclusion that the brockdorff syndrome is present in all of us.

Drink certainly makes it come out more. From some of the posts i have just posted in another thread i have come to this conclusion, i havnt even bothered to think i may be wrong (until i thought of this thread) i just cannot accept the fact i may be wrong and have been determined i am right and posted accordingly.

This post isnt even completely relevant to the topic and i do apologise.

BUT paintball and tv - ha - dont make me laugh, one4one - does ok but lets face it most of the **** they produce is some of the most boring stuff ever witnessed by mankind. Derder - enjoyable, yes, but broadcastable to the public - doubt it.

I think that was on topic.

Mark, everything you just said is EXACTLY what I wanted people to appreciate, it just amazes me how you can get it (and everybody else) but someone like bug/hermitt cannot.

But when I think about it and remind myself of the type of person he was, it comes as little surprise he chose the road he did .... he was just a hostage to his nature ...... and then got stepped on.

Well I supplose we cannot fault him for his desire to see it work, it is just totally deluded and detached from reality.

Having been lucky enough to be part of one of the few paintball programmes on TV (hell, it [Mission Paintball] was good fun if a little cheesy) I know the thrill that it brought the participants. But it really didnt go much outside the playing base at the time and what benefits it did bring was to increase some punter numbers (a good thing for sure). But the series was designed to do that, giving the public a look at punter type paintball played by 'competent' ballers. It therefore served a purpose with only the very last episode showing some tourney ball.

If it had been tourney ball all along then it would have been a failure from start to finish and not generated interest/results at all. This programme was cheap to make, was on cable and relied not on showing the 'sport' of paintball but the interesting bits of the past time that is accessible to everyone providing you can get out of bed at the weekend and part with £50.

Now, if we had to change the game to suit TV then there might be a little mileage. I have discussed with you before my idea of a speedway type event, a series of one on ones that gives focus to the game and less confusion to the viewer, is easier to film and really brings the player to the fore as an individual.

Its not paintball as we know it, still doesnt adress any of the preconceptions of the unwashed masses and is a side show for what we all accept (I hope) is an already erroded game. Still might be fun, can't bet on TV loving it either, but it has more chance than we have at the moment.

Funny enough, that one incident nearly bought the whole Millennium house of cards crashing down and some pretty fancy footwork had to be done to quell the offended party ... as for ulrich von klinkerhoffen?

Well, he's still employed by the Millennium but I did hear he recently enrolled into a local college in an attempt to teach him some manners, this of course was predicated upon him realising he had a problem in the first place but unfortunately he was unable to respond to normal teaching methods, apparently he had a problem in hearing what was being taught because his hemorrhoids were blocking his ears ......

Ulrich and certain henchmen are responsible for the draconian state of affairs in the rule book too, one of the primary reasons why the game is so much less enjoyable these days.

I have heard so many horror stories concerning people's dealings with ulrich von kilnkerhoffen ...he just doesn't seem to understand the notion that life is sometimes a grey area and when situations erupt that ain't polarised, then commonsense has to be applied.
And generally speaking, in this situation, the emphasis has to default to the paying customer .... it's called 'good business practice' and more importantly (in my book at least) 'polite' - he seems to have notched up a litany of incidents whereby customers are treated unsympathetically, rudely and inappropriately.
