Just because your in div1 does not mean you can play div1, too many teams with big egos its that simple

No its not stupid. Playing a team from Div 6 all day is NOT going to do us any favours. Neither would it do Dynasty any favours if they scrimmed MK Storm all day. What would the better team be getting out of it?

Nothing thats what.

Heres an idea, go enter a tournament where you can play against a decent team.
Div 6 doesn't exist ;).

I've always heard players saying that you need to play against people better than you to improve.

And then i hear that you shouldn't play against people who aren't as good as you because it will not help your game.

I guess you just have to edge up one div at a time, but it's kinda contradictory, especially when people look out for themselves only.

...and never learn anything.

Better teams should find the time to help other teams and teams that are not as good should not shy away from practicing against a better team.

It's this sort of attitude that has lead to an increased number of below par teams playing against other below par teams over and over again with absolutely no improvement anywhere.

Tournaments are not the place to learn. They are for applying what you have learned.

I agree a gap of 2 or more divisions would not benefit either team but playing within one division will help. If those teams are in the correct divisions of course.

A semi Pro team is going to be a handful for a Pro team. There is a difference but it is not a huge one.

**EDIT**
by playing within one division - I meant one division up/down from the one you play in....
Also agree with vvvvvvv
Correct, I agree. Most PMs I get about scrims, are very low division teams. If any team is down where we train, and they ask for a game, then sure, we always oblige at the end of the day. I had a PM once, from a kid claiming to play for Team Brilliant, demanding we scrim them. I then find out after speaking to his captain, that he actually played for Team Nearly Brilliant, their feeder team. Who played 5 man, limited paint or whatever it was. Not even the same format as us. He even got a bit snotty with me.

What I would do, if I were starting out, is find out where these guys train, and go train there for the day. Ask for a game! And I would encourage anyone to do this.

Yes I know ;)

Correct yes.

Not necessarily shouldnt, but it wont do you much favours if you spank them all day. You start to play really loose, and not trying 100%. Sure its fun for a couple of games, but common! I want someone who tries, and at least thinks about their actions.

I guess you just have to edge up one div at a time, but it's kinda contradictory, especially when people look out for themselves only.
Well thats what Im trying to do, but I think just for our division, it will be a handful, so if anyone wants to start something for their own divisions, then feel free to do so.

i see what you guys are getting at, but you seem to be relying to much on scrims. Sure there fun, but imo you need to do drill after drill after drill and then have the occasional scrim to put into practice what you've been drilling.

Yeah we drill every weekend. Scrim once a month versus ECI, maybe twice. Im only thinking of setting something rolling so that once a month, preferably the weekend before the next event, get together and learn the field. Try things out, adjust over the day. You should get 10 - 15 games in in a day, on the same field, and walk away with some solid game plans, right before an event.

Sound good?
