This is a good example of the two-faced bull**** that has caused some good referees to resign and is a source of player irritation. Either there's no orange allowed on anything you can see on-field for everyone or allow any color; just be totally consistent. There's some very valid reasons that one, protected, reserved color is enforced throughout the industry. Orange should be the one color you don't shoot at and it would therefore become the best marking color. What's so complicated with that? And then it gets enforced for everyone with no exceptions for certain manufacturers.Originally posted by Just Curious
Ahmmm,, I would dispute that. Next time you play a Mill Event, just have a look at how many Teams play with Orange Kit.
This is a bit of a sore point for us as we had Team Shirts printed with a small 'logo' in gold. In 'Dam last year we were made to play with the shirts inside out due to a jobs-worth ref who said the colour was Orange. Paris, loads of teams were playing in Orange Proto gear and the likes. We pulled Ulrich on this and all he could say was 'yes, you are right but what can I do?'
Point of story is, play with what you want, it all depends on the mood of the refs.
The refs just want to know what the real rules are and enforce them the same for everyone. Nothing else works, makes sense or is fair.
