Why would banning someone for wiping not work? surely this is cheating in its worst form and players would support a player being banned form the tournament if they are caught?

It is too easy to say that it won't work or that it will be difficult to implement but surely it's worth investing the time to see how we can make it managable?

You never know, we might even thrash out a good solution between us :)

if the person is banned from next game by a marshal on one field whats to stop them going on another field? no one checks who's who so they could easily get away with it. pulling people and banning them for swearing would have an awful lot of people banned- which would then more then likely have more arguments etc that would follow

would not work you couldnt ban someone for wiping you would have a uproar -- a warning would do or a minus 25pts to there scores

just my 2 cents
i dissagree
wiping is for no game loosers, they should be banned for the rest of the tournement.if i caught one of my team members wiping deliberatly i would light him up myself;)
define swearing
when you get tagged,oh **** ect is a natural reaction, spitting the dummy and swearing/screaming at refs is a different matter:(

say your runnin to a barricade and get shot on the legs and slide in, i see it hit, come to look at you and its gone and u carry on. i could call you out. or i could ban you for wiping as u "must or should" of known u got hit as you would of felt it. or you slide in to get rid of paint when you didnt need to. there are sometimes to close a call to being called out or wiping.

same with getting hit on the barrel and then putting ur barrel on the barricade- did u know u got hit or are you just staying tight?

A penalty point system would probably be good. 25pt off if you wipe.

also 25 pointst off if you lift you goggles when you are on the playing field.

as everyone knows points win prizes:)

No Andy, I'm sure everybody agrees with you in these instances, but what I feel we are all talking about is the blatent wipes - we have all seen them, and not the ones that are hard to spot.

You have far more experience in these things than me, so I'm sure you know what we mean?

Damn you le-pig, ;) making me sound like a budgie! :D

what I mean by wiping is this:

When spectating from outside the field I have deliberate wiping using the hand or rubbing it off either on the can or grass. This is why I say it would be good to have a Marshall spectating from outside the field lookig just for wipes. How about a ban and 25pts that sounds like a good compromise.

commitee

guys this thread is getting out of hand we are talking about faults with wiping etc it is not meant for that it is about the mm folding next year unless we the teams try and sort things and give blakey and the mids masters crew some encouragment we wont have a mids masters event next year to ban players and teams from these things are left for the comittee to sort out so can we stick to the facts and that is that mark is seriously talking about after round 8 calling it a day unless we the teams can change and start having some fun in the sport i now this is not meant against every team even i have my bad days but i am just trying to put across what has been told to me by mark I myself will be speaking to my team and trying harder at the next event as i really do not want to see the mids masters fold so can we stick to the facts please and keep putting comments on hear to let mark and the crew now that we do not want them to nock the series on the head and that we will all try a little harder mark and the crew and i am really sorry for being a dolly thrower myself from time to time but i will try harder to control myself at future events

Lee, I hear what you are saying but for once. and probably once only, I agree with DW's sentiments on the whole.

If you (and I mean this in the sense of anyone reading, not you personally Lee) are partial to having a tantrum then you need to control yourself otherwise the MM crew should ban you - simple as that. I certainly don't feel that the MM crew should have to lose any sleep over it when the trouble makers seem to be in such a minority. Cause trouble - get banned, it should be that simple 'play hard, play fair or play elsewhere' isn't that how it goes?

From my limited experience at MM events (my first year playing them) I find 99% of people (especially the organisers), some of the nicest people I have had the chance to bump into. Nearly everyone will help you out with a problem etc At last weeks for example, a girl I have never spoken to before (Wendy I think her name was) leant me over £1000 worth of her own equipment (mmm, timmy!) for a game moments after my air system went down. Amazing! These are generally the sort of people you get to play with/against so don't let people who take things WAY too seriously ruin things for all the other paying public who are there for a goodtime.

Keeping The MM For 2004

Guys i re-iterate what I said ealier

WE the paintballers of the MM put forward a Disciplinary Commitee to care of our sport that we all love, let us therefore put the matter before them and everybody abide by the outcome of their decision. From that point forward let us all work towards improving our sport, the majority of us playing are adults let us behave like adults and raise the standards to levels where people want to copy the MM for being leaders in the sport of paintball in a league that is free of any anti social behaviour and is self disciplined has skill and competition but most of all is enjoyable to play in. IT IS OUR SPORT LET US KEEP IT AS SPORT.
