In order for us to improve the Midlands Masters, we need the help of you, the players, the Industry, the Marshals, and the press.

How can you help us?
Easy, tell us what you think, be honest.

What do you think of the organisation behind the MM.?

How do you rate the marshalling?

What format do you want to play?

What venues do you want to play at?

Do you think the MM is good value for money?

Are there too many legs?

Would you like to see an Indoor event included?

How about the seeding?

How can we improve the MM for you?

How do we compare to other tournies?

We cannot fix it if we don't know that its wrong!

We value your views, AND ARE PREPARED TO ACT ON THEM.

Play Hard, Play Fair or PLAY ELSEWHERE!

As one of the founder members of the SAD Marshals Union (SMU). I would like to see more young ladies playing this great tournament.

I think that you should offer free entry to this event, for women only teams, this why we may see this sport mature into a more equally band of players.

As for the marshals, we would like a better beer and longer dinner brakes with more beer.

P.s.
Did I mention the BEER
:D

Just one thing.....

We played the second leg at activ8 at the weekend.
Now before I start , we played like a bunch of twats all day , and I dont want this to sound like I'm making excuses. I'm not.

After the event we discussed a few things. The marshalling was its normal standard ( very good in general ). but some of the fields could have been a bit better layed out. There was a couple of fields that had barely enough bunkers to fit five players behind from one end , but plenty from the other. ( especially field 1 from the right hand side. ) and having to run up quite a steep gradient from one end of a field is a bit biased aswell.
That said , you cant do much about how the ground lies at any site ( I guess I'm just used to flat fields that are even from both ends ).

But the one thing that I would like to see change slightly in the rules for the limited paint is...... the amount of paint.
Can we please make it a hopper ( only 200 shot revo's ) and a pot. This gives you a bit more of a chance to get a good game going , rather than watching the time tick by and not daring to shoot unless a garunteed kill is available. Especially in the woods.

Sorry if this sounded like a winge to excuse our play at the weekend , 'vus as I said , it is not.

Thanks to the Midland Masters , you do a good job guys. And its nice to know you're listening to the players.:D .

Sorry but i disagree with you Twinkle Toes.
The whole idea of limited paint is to make it harder to hit the opposition and to make you work more with your team (covering fire etc) Less spray and pray and more moves and snap shots. if you start putting a hopper and a pot per player you maight aswell go and make it unlimited paint. The most i shot per game was 197. then i got taken out :(

Bring on the next leg, sup-air and huge amounts of paint on a cricket pitch :D

Try guess work and a crystal ball, thats we we do.
That explains a lot, but it would be nice to have a set so we don't lose point's thru marshals enforcing a rule that we did'nt know about at the time.

Good event though:D

I agree.....

Alien , I'm not saying that you should adopt a spray and pray tactic. What I'm saying is that it was more than difficult on some games to see your oppositon due to the field layout and the lack of bunkers. This makes it very hard to move up at all , and also very hard to give cover fire ( 'cus you cant see anyone ). With the very limited amount of paint available , this further amplified this. I don't want it to go completely unlimited ( no wait!!! ) , but as I've said , it gives you more oppertunity to give some cover and move up the field. It allows a more offensive play rather than the ( on some occasions , too ) defensive play.

What would you honestly rather play. Both teams sit in the back five bunkers , no one moving , and lobbing the odd long ball.

....or

A hard fought game , that you had to work at to move around the field and make some moves to open up the game.

( Please dont get upset anyone reading this. I'm not saying everyone sat at the back and did this. There was some very good play on Sunday. Just not from us ).

It may have been down to the field layout on the day , our play on the day , and the fact that we have not played a hopper only tournament for about 5 years. I just think it would be better the same as the 2K2 limited format.:D .

I agree that some of the fields were defensive in nature (field 1 on the right, and field 3) and that some teams had to be "dug out" of their bunkers, but with limited shots available you had the chance to move up after a while (apart from field 1) if you got 1 player out of their bunker. At least that is what i found (field 3 had a wonderfully long run from the road side to any bunkers)

Thank god the next is on sup-air with as much paint as you can carry :D I almost feel sorry for the cricketers;)
