ok guys, this matter is now closed for us. if phil decides to say anything more fair enuff thats his choice. As far as i know he made no effort to come up to see any of us so the case is closed. We will however be sending PGI and PBUK full details of all our donations to charity over the years.

mario out

mcD no worries, like you said wires crossed, glad to be of service.

Really if your bothered that novice players are given a £5 discount then you should take up snakes and ladders or something.

In my opinion tournament paintball is only as good as it is now in the UK because of the Midlands Masters.

Before the MM youy were told where the tourney would be and told what fields and format you were playing. If you were lucky you had one supair field to go with 3 woods fields.

Then Blakey and Co came along and they ASKED what format you wanted, ASKED what type of fleilds etc.
All supair tourneys are common now but this is due on no small part to the Midlands Masters setting the standard and asking the paying customers what they want.

I dont want to take up snakes and ladders or anything else and as for the £5.00 hike on our entry fees, Well since my last post i've found out off Steve that our insurance for the series is now nearly £3000.00 a year and with my wages on top he had to put his 5 man fees up but we have kept our 7 man fee's capped at £30.00 a man so if you want to pay us the same as you pay we will give you a free box of paint per event. .

And this weekend I was told where the event was the format and did'nt see an air field at all now i like that format but how many others did, We have no woodland events this year so who is asking the players what they want!!.

As for the MM being our saviour's - Without Bully you would'nt have had the chance to play tournament ball in the UK outside of Campaign.
the first sup air field in use in the uk outside of Campaign was at ours.
You would'nt even have your goggles the way they are without bully.
So MM setting the standard !!. You tell me what they do that has not being done before.
And don't start thinking that i am dissing the MM I'm just putting you right on a few things I personally enjoy playing the MM and will do for the rest of the year and have no problem with anybody down there.

We may be missing that point, but I still stand by what I said that Phil has an alterior motive- it's not the first time he's come on these boards trynig to rubbish the tournaments that SPC run. How do you address that point Russell?

See you sunday- and I can't stand the woods ;)
dicky. yes you are missing the point that russ made.
if people want to HELP new teams they will off thier own back, not be told they are giving EXTRA to pay for it.
as for prizes in the MM, i was under the impresion that these were sponsored prizes.

now dont get me wrong, i'm not trying to shoot down the s.p.c crew and what they are about, just stating obvious points.
i have in the past played almost every event you have put on, and will in the future carry on doing so.
good on you for trying to bring new teams in to the sport, but dont think that every one will be happy paying more to play X amount of games on the same field with the same marshals as other teams.

your missing the point by stating " be realistic, is £5 a player for the uk masters teams going to set you back that much? if it helps new teams out then i think i'd pay it, but maybe thats just me"

you are missing the point by assuming that everyone wants to subsidise new teams.

like i said i'm not having a go at the mm / spc bods, just dont like people making assumptions on my behalf.
and that is what i read out of russ's post too.
