Midland Masters / KOTH

Can anybody explain why the midland masters is a five man in the woods and the king of the hill is a five man in the woods we are using the same marshals/fields/stageing area/ in fact no difference from where i standing except one division pays an extra £25.000 per team.
If it's because the "A teams" get something for winning thats fine but it would have to be a pretty good prize when you think about it. 16x25 = £400 extra at this event alone.
£35 is the dearest entry fee for a standard tournament and when its in the dam woods as well i feel like they are taking the p***.

And i am not even sure they give out any prize's.

I have not posted this to get flamed but like it says just speaking my brains:(

And i know i'm not the only one who thinks the Midland Masters are getting greedy.
And before anyone says vote with your feet - the team have commited to play the series so do i just leave the team when all i want is fairness across the board.

Are you the same guy who was accusing us of trying to rip people off through our charity auction?

Yeah- there are prizes. And the leg in the woods was as a response to players requests. I can't answer for the rest- try PM'ing Blakey.

Whats next then mate?

Do you not see the lower KOTH pricing as an incentive to bring newer teams and players into tournament paintball?? I would see the lower entry fee and the fact it is limited paint for KOTH entrants as exactly that??!!

Dave- judging by this guys other posts slating UK Masters etc, I think he has a hidden agenda.

All I'd say to Phil is speak with your feet mate- all the other teams enjoy playing the series due to it's good marshaling, good organisation and offer of attractive prizes.

Peace out :)

Offer of atractive prizes eh we (panic attack) played the midlands masters last year i'll agree with your comments on good tourney good marshalling (most of the time) but on the prizes i'm afraid i'm going to have to disagree. At the end of the season we won a "prize" which was supposed to be 24 boxes of severe paint courtesy of John Payne after asking for these boxes on many ocasions and prety much reaching dead ends we had the recent offer of 3 boxes per uk masters. Now correct me if i'm wrong but i personaly didnt think a prize would force you into playing a woodland event its not like storm young guns won all that kit off angel (from the catagory panic attack were already in and when we looked like winning it somehow got put into a catagory lower ala j p non offer) and were told they could only have the kit if they played uk masters. So to all playing a midland masters event this year dont keep your hopes to high for the end of year prizes as our 24 boxes of paint which 7 skint lads could really do with for training may end up being just as fictisiouse as our "prize"

right would someone tell me how we are getting greedy? please explain it to me mate....

we have a lovely letter from the hospice which thanks us for our generous donation to themselves from us....which kills off your last thread really doesn't it?
£35 a player for a five man squad...from what i remember that was what is was before i joined SPC so there's no difference....We have put no pressure on any team to come and play this event.
The reason it's in the woods is that its a contiuity thing within the series. Every year for us has started there and we have good relations with them....
McD i've PM'd you mate about your situation....have you contacted blakey about it. I apologise for whats gone wrong and i will do my best to right that wrong...
I also don't get what you are pissed off about because the lower entry fee allows teams who are just starting out to participate. These teams are the type we need to bring costs down across the industry...
And the dearest standard entry fee? i think not....

so to you the players come forward and tell us if you think we are being greedy and explain to me how we are greedy....phil be a man and tell us who you play for?

For christ's sake, if you don't like it don't play. Why the hell do people feel the need to come on and slag of tourneys? Are we under the impression that tourney organisers are a charitable group who give up their time for bugger all? Every tourney gets it for some reason.......... S2K3 got it when bully said no more woods........... UK masters gets it for having woods.... PA got it for being up North...£35 a player? big deal, if a fiver makes that much difference to ya........ how the hell can you afford paintball. As for hidden agends? well there have been plenty of those about, and other threads are just making sense now I know who has vested interests in what........ please note, I have no affiliation with any organiser, I play the ones I play 'cos I like them and they are convenient, no other reason. So certain posters who've taken pops at me can back down, I just play paintball, I organise nothing.
About time people just shut the hell up, stopped whining and played what suits. If the masters isn't your thing, don't play it. As far as I can see, KOTH has been organised to get the newbies in..... the masters doesn't have an elevated price.... KOTH has a reduction for the entry level players.
And as Mario says........ the don't make anyone play. So it pretty much renders all arguments pointless.

McD having just spoken to blakey i'll give you the gist of the conversation. We were under the impression you wished to play our series for the entire year. Having thought this we thought it would be more beneficial for you to have your allocation in 3 boxes an event (which over 8 events equates to 24 boxes). If this is not your wish thats cool, we will organise for you to have the full 24 cases given to you and you can play whichever series suits you. Our apologies for this mix up.

Phil if you feel so strongly about this point please come and speak to blakey on sunday who as many people will agree is a very approachable guy. We listen to our players and we will listen to you.
