Make sure you get an A8 tech to do it.

Being first all Alu body car the A8 required different set of welding techniques as Alu is much harder to weld properly. If they are A8 techs they should have been trained in Alu welding and will make better job.

alternatively you could take it to a jag garage as only 80% of audi dealerships are equipped with A8 tig welders... take it to a jag garage instead;)

How rare :) - Ill ask him later....

Ive asked him about the A8 welders, he's going to send it to Buxton (nearest local dealer). So hopefully should have a marker with a feed neck soon.

WELD THE FEED TUBE

burb
it will be fine too weld the feed tube to body.....
ally or stainless.
all you do is insert what they call a heat sink into the body and feed tube.....this will disipate the heat from warping the body and just keep the heat(fusion)at point of weld...........
too make a heat sink just get some ally or brass turned down too similar diameter as body and feed tube and insert them at point of welding......
i have done this and its fine ....
only prob is if its anodised it will be hard to weld, youll have to remove anno from area of weld.......
hope this is of help too ya

Ellesmere Port
Use proper epoxy. Spread a little on all the way around the feed tube and feed tube port...let them dry until they are touch dry. After that push the feedtube in and keep constant pressure on them for 7-9mins and hey presto! Completly stuck feed tube.
