Why do you lot keep going on about not enjoying a walk on day with an inferior gun? I emphasize the word FUN, the day isnt just about hardcore-paintballing-I-must-win, the walk on days are about having a good chat and a laugh with other paintballers, I play with a Diablo Sabotage which is way inferior to guns such as E-Mags and Eclipses but I still enjoy a walk on day immensely.
If you do go with a hardcore-paintballing-I-must-win attitude then you are not enjyoing yourself, you cant be!! save that attitude for tournaments where there is a need to win.

Now go to bed without any supper!!!

Regards to all.

Just to clarify Hughsey, I meant really from the point of view of newer/more inexperienced players. Don't forget that a lot of people can be quite nervous when they first start out ballin' - thanks to all the horror stories from mates about bruises and PJ & Duncan etc ;)

I don't think that your more experienced players mind too much. I shoot an Inferno and have a great day out (slower ROF means less expense in paint :D ) - as long as it shoots paint, you can play :)

Plus, like you say, it's fun getting to talk to better/tournament players and get advice. Plus, they'll often let you have a go of that shiny Angel on a range if you ask nicely :D

I think it depends on the site because when we had a punter day, a mates brother took his warp fen emag along and they didnt mind ;)

Bit of a sticky issue this one...

Letting walk-ons with top-level gear go up against rental customers playing for the first time is, in my opinion, bang out of order. I've played at sites like that and no matter what your intentions are, once the adrenalin gets going you end up cutting loose at the poor punters when they don't have a chance of matching your range and rate of fire. It spoils their day and gets you into bad playing habits, so I don't go to sites like that any more.

On the other hand, when you go out with your non-serious player friends/colleagues etc. for a day, it's a nightmare having to use a site gun if you're used to something that's accurate, reliable and doesn't come unscrewed in your hands.

Solution - do what I've just done and buy a bog standard inferno. It's no better than a site gun so you get to use it, but it hasn't had the $£%^ kicked out of it by thousands of punters so it won't conk out at random moments, shred paint etc. I wonder when our next 50-person office&friends do is....:D

ive walked into games and it usually depends on if rentals players wanna try it or not.. it should all be on vote :p

i've had times where my guns i brought when dead and i couldn't fix it on the field so ended up having to use a tippman 98c or pro carb rentals :p

i still did pretty well..

i think its more about the skill not necessarily the equipment

Cool mario. I spoke to Chris, the guy who takes all the bookings. My exact words on the fone were "what are your policies on people with their own markers." He then told me all about the own gunners days. I never thought to ask if i would get away with it. Anyway there are always guys playing with angels on the young gunz days!
