Within the confines of the Tournament marketplace, I imagine the next race is going to be to get the high-end marker, complete with all the features people currently want (minus the ones no-one uses), onto the market for $500 US.
I see all future tech being used to make the guns cheaper rather than better. There's no point trying to make them faster anymore, and no point making them lighter either. We are at critical mass in these regards. All guns are pretty reliable these days, and the only obvious way to successfully garner more market share is now to hit vital price-points.
