Within the confines of the Tournament marketplace, I imagine the next race is going to be to get the high-end marker, complete with all the features people currently want (minus the ones no-one uses), onto the market for $500 US.
I see all future tech being used to make the guns cheaper rather than better. There's no point trying to make them faster anymore, and no point making them lighter either. We are at critical mass in these regards. All guns are pretty reliable these days, and the only obvious way to successfully garner more market share is now to hit vital price-points.

Why prolong the suffering... Let's just shoot ourselves in the head right now... :(

Think of it as a hill, we're currently say... 80% of the way to the top.

Once prices start plummeting for cheap, highly reliable, feature packed markers then we start rolling down the nice long slope to success!!!

Cheaper markers = more affordability

More affordability = more players

More players = Win!

Thats how I like to pretend the world works at the moment at least.

not that I could do any better mind. I shoot a SL8R and adore it. I really dont see how much further a manufacturer could improve a gun like this year on year.
Four great new colours takes the p**s a bit dont you think?

I find the marker technology one of the most interesting things about this industry. I thuroughly enjoy learning about the markers themselves, their operation, what makes one better than the other etc. and of course ... how they shoot :-D

Yeah, once '4 great new colours' becomes a listed feature....

4 colours is a perfectly genuine feature. Look at the latest dell laptop advert.
Colour is something the customer can get to grips with.

Right now paintball guns have all these silly buzz words, which are just designed to confuse the customer until he doesnt even know what hes buying.

An example of that is operating pressure.
Something thats quoted on most paintball gun adverts.

How is the customer supposed to know the effect of the pressure in their gun?
They dont, they just assume lower is better. Which, by the way is at best a huge simplification. At worst its just plain wrong.
