It's easy ,I believe thats where the number 13 being unlucky comes from, 13 loops on a noose.

Strictly speaking, it's called a Hangman's knot. And every loop you add makes it harder to pull tight.

Oddly enough, tying one is one of the only things I can remember my dad teaching me to do.
