Now, what is this all about? How is it possible that 2 teams get 200 points (maximum), and only bring 4 marshalls? Good for them, but it is not fair. If you win first place you have the same with 7/8 guys?

How come other teams need to bring 8 marshalls (and sometimes get less points when players are injured or stuff)? We do not need to state here that the marshalling was far from perfect in Madrid. I think that 8 extra Marshalls could have brought relief in the marshalling, making more breaks possible (marshalling in 35 degrees is no easy job and it is very much conceivable that this might have caused some sort of motivational problem). Extra marshalls might have very much helped the quality of marshalling.

Concluding: The teams brought half the marshalls, overall the marshalling at the Iberian Cup was bad and still they get the full 200 points?

Ulrich discuss if you dare....or is this something you must again apologize for but do nothing about?

Theres already a thread discussing this. Ref's were overbooked 'apparently'. Teams were told they werent needed after they'd already booked the flights and hotels.

Then a week before they were told they were needed. So teams forked out double the cash to get out there on the condition that they got the full points as origonally they were supplying the full compliment of refs.

Fair deal if you ask me, they could have just not bothered...

It's not fair Johan but in this case, totally justified in terms of the actual teams who went to judge.
Remember these guys had been fcuked about by Pedro, being asked to go one minute, then being cancelled (after they had booked time off and booked flights etc) and then being called up once more and told, 'Ooops, sorry, we now need you to come'.

If I had been one of those teams, I would have told Pedro to shove it up his ass and let his tournament die thru lack of judges, but instead, even tho these guys had all been really fcuked about, they agreed to come only if they got max points..and I can't blame them mate.
The problem was, these teams had originally ALL booked to come across, that is, all of the required number of players were coming to judge.
Once this was canceled by Pedro, these guys then had to go back to their respective companies etc and cancel the holiday they had booked and then tell their works they were now going in.
When Pedro called to tell them he now wanted them again, is it any wonder only half of them could make it?
Nah, this is a case of a 'lesser of evils', if these teams had not been promised max points, they wouldn't have gone and that really would have been a disaster in Madrid.

Edit Added : Oopps, Al, you just beat me, sorry for repeating same points.

Gotta agree.

As part of a team that has reffed this year and did not receive the full 200 points due to a problem getting the maximum 8 refs out to Bitburg, I'd love to jump on this band wagon and argue for more points for my team, but it wouldn't be just.

For the reasons stated above, in this instance, it seems that the teams are getting exactly what they deserve.

This is one of the reasons why HPG did not play Madrid. I am not willing to support an event that is so badly organized.

No location till the last minute...what is that all about. How can you justify to charge £910 entry if you are not even able to sort it properly.

In regards to the Marshals. I had a few messages of teams that have reffed other events and they are all very unhappy. Leaving the point aside that the teams had to pay extra and have done us ballers a favour to come short noticed , it is not fair to once again change, alter, bend the rules to accommodate the MS **** ups.

No offence to the teams that have received the 200 points. Would have done the same guys!

Why bother having rules if they get constantly changed??? Next event if I get shot I will demand to play on as I do not think it is fair to be shot out by the other team as I have paid good money to play ball.

Dear MS, it would be nice to finally get the professionalism of you that you charge us for!

Remember these guys were already going out there with the full compliment and it's because of a screw up that was entirely not their fault that this happened. Had Pedro not cancelled them they would have got the points in the normal way.

Also, any team that's asked to provide reffing at 6 days notice after being treated like they were deserves everything they get.

Pedro bashing - I love it

Portugal 2001 - Pedros team were marshallig his event and expected their 200 points, until we rumbled that half the regulars didnt turn up, he used site marshalls in their place, they all turned up late every day or not at all and when the finals came we (the Rushers at the time) and Shockwave had to marshal all the Sunday games because they were incapable/incompetent/not there.

We made sure they didnt get their 200 points. Pedro never ceases to amaze me and I would never attend an event he was involved in. Not a penny, never again.

These teams should get their 200 points, Pedros penny pinching/incompetence shouldnt affect them.

As we are one of the teams who didnt get 200 points but showed up with 8 members in Marseille, i am not really willing to accept this.

We are also discussing it in Germany and come to the point that someone of the board decided to give some teams in Madrid 200 pts becaused they already booked flights for 8 members and then got told that the only have to come with 4. As a compensation for taking holidays from work, canceling flights etc. the got the whole points.

How can that be? Even when there are also Pro Refs in Madrid who got paid for reffing? Why couldnt the got 8 more refs for the fields and got rid of some of the Pro Refs?

So as the Millennium Series is a company and we are the customers of that company, we all have the right to get treated all the same way. In this case refs got compensation (or whatever you will call it) for less fields or any difficulties they have with canceling and stuff I could also claim that we had to less marshalls in Marseille with to much teams and fields compared to the ammount of refs. I remember M5: Two fields with 10 marshalls and 1 head marshall for both fields.

I am speaking in the name of 2die4 Factory (FightClub) D1 team.
