Now while all the bitching has been raging elsewhere, i've had a story relayed to me by two seperate fairly emminent people in the paintball world about something that happened during a game. Both people refuse tell me or dont know the name of the team so i cant tell you and beleive me when i find out i'm gonna be shouting from the roof tops.
It stretch's the imagination as to what lengths of gamesmanship some people will go to,to win a game. It also highlights one of the problems faced by marshals.
Heres the scene:a team is playing from the far end of a field,ie away from the entrance and more eyes. 4 of them have been shot out and are lying on the ground behind the flag station.
The three remaining players are in a world of pooh facing 5 players but help is close at hand.
As the five move up one of the dead players manovers his barrel under the fence and starts shooting at one of the bunkers the attackers have made. he only fires 3-4 shots and doesn't hit the player but makes him stay tight to the bunker as he's not sure where it's coming from. the two closest marshals are also oblivious but are in the correct positions with regard to what happening 'on the field'.
On the other flank another attacker is then made to go tight to his bunker when another barrel is poked out from under the base station. The attackers in the middle then balls it up by being shot by legitimate means and the tree go on to win the game.
The incident lasted 10-20 seconds at most and as no one was actually shot maybe no real harm was done. errrrrmmm i think not.
Now you're the judge, u decide how we are going to stop this happening again.
