Oh C'mone Teej,

You know the big shots can be more.....subtle than that... I was thinking of something more in the lines of :
- "OK, so all the team captains are here? Lets start then. Today's issue, the extension of the Pro division from 18 to 40 teams. Who's against? 18, OK.
Who's in favor? everybody else, al'right, done deal....":D

I agree that it's not beyond the realms of possibility, especially in pball, however, I think you'll see 18 names and 18 names only on next year's Pro list...

Thanks, Maestro, but I'm not concerned for TNG's fate in the least.
I did notice you ducked the rest of my previous post however. :p

Besides, y'all sound like you've buried the PSP, the NXL and anointed PP as king of the world all on the basis of some magical TV future. Kind'a like y'all did not too long ago with the PSP and NXL. It's deja vu all over again.

And I ain't buried PSP, I am just stating a possible future scenario, one of many. And besides, that possible world doesn't hang on TV in any way shape or form...

Sure it does. No other reason for it except to validate the entirety of the Pro ranks. If PP was simply gonna keep running tournaments as in the past they'd be happy to have anyone who wanted enter--See Tippmann, Godspell (or whatever they're called) etc.
This way however if the TV gig works out PP has a valuable commodity and one way you maintain and demonstrate its worth is by making and keeping it exclusive. Nor will PP care if a select assortment of the truly best teams ain't there 'cus they (PP) will, by definition--we're on TV and you're not--be deciding who is the "best" and who isn't.
