that someone else deserves all the attention he gets.

god rest the man's soul.

I had my picture taken with George Best in 1980 and i am sure i have a five pound note somewhere with his sugnature on it.

I was lucky enough and (unfortunately) old enough to see George Best actually play for Man U at Craven Cottage more than a few years back and whilst he may not have been the greatest of all time, he was most certainly alongside the likes of Pele, Mara 'cheatin' donna and Cruyff as one of the best.....
A flawed genius...the likes of which most of us look on in justified awe.

However can't help feeling some poor decent sod, maybe with a family died so george could drink his way through another liver.
QFT as they say on PBN...no denying the man could play football though...never good to see this happen, well before his time.

This is probably going to piss a few people off but hey thats the way life goes.

He wrecked his first liver on booze, got the chance to start over thanks to another liver and he spanked that one too.

I have no pity for him, he was lucky to get a second shot at life, and he wasted it.

Peace

Not being a footy enthusiast I can't really comment as to his playing, but it annoys me to see the same papers that dragged his personal life and told "the exclusive story of my affair with George Best" by N. E. Oldscrubber over and over now eulogising him as a national hero:mad:

Yeah i know what you mean chris, but you gotta feel for his family.......

My farther did exactly the same(although his footy skills were alot to be desired), I know what their family must be goin' through fist hand, it's terribble to loose someone who you love more than anything in the world......

Deep simpathy goin' out to his family, i just wish all the press would leave him alone now................

Best to remember him for all the good things he did(like score 6 goals in 1 game:D )
