Well ... to be honest i have my reservations as to ever being allowed to use anything but semi-auto here, but if we can liberalise markers then that is a big step towards bring Paintball as a sport to Malta. I've been wrecking my head on this issue for nearly two years now, but finally it seems we're getting somewhere.

once again thanks for the info guys.

Actually mate...if you read teh latest UK Home Office guidlines, it sates in there, that paintball guns "should not be considered firearms"...I the UKPSF has OK'd ramping with teh Home Office, and that in fact, our guns, dont actually fall into either Airgun or Firearm policies...the guns tehselves are a grey area, and are considered more as toys.
This is of course, in proper use..use one improperly and you can expect teh full extent of an armed response team

As far as the Law in concerned ANY mode is legal, only capped ramping is allowed in some tournament play, others only allow capped semi mode.
The cap agreed in the UK is 15.4 balls per second with the minimum time allowed between shots being 65ms.
So fifty balls per second full auto is legal in the UK, just not allowed in tournament use.

Hi Russ

Does this mean that if someone wanted to run a tournament in the UK with uncapped full auto/ramping, they would be free to do so within the current laws?

What would be the implications regarding insuring an event allowing these rates of fire?

Thanks
Jeff

You wouldnt get insurance on it as I am sure you know.
Nor would you get anyone wanting to play it...even if it was a 20-30 bps ramping tourny, I doubt you would get many takers...and those that did, probably wouldnt play it twice!:D

your problem sounds very similar to our situation in Northern Ireland. although our laws are being relaxed a little now.

Yepp, realy tough. Looks like it is going to take some time to seep in, but eventually we'll get somewhere!! The meeting this morning looked promising.
