The inflatables company I work for use laser guns for one of there main games.
Each gun costs £1000 and we have 10.
The company that makes the guns is in the final stages of developing a laser gun for use in woods.
I believe they are making them to look like proper machine guns and rifles, but I may be wrong.
I believe these will also be a grand each.
I found this site on the web a few months ago, some people take it really seriously http://www.laser-mission.com/

With the CCF we spent some time on exercise with the lazer tag guns etc, and to be honest they are sh1t, nothing like the adrenalin of paintball. Yes there is no mess, and they are cheap to hire out, but they paintball is getting cheaper, an sometimes a but of mud etc is fun, so i cant see them becoming a major threat to woodsball any time soon.

Personally i used to love laser tag when i was younger, however as you get older, you dont get the same rush from running round a room shooting people i'd imagine.

saying that, my cousin (who is 12) cant wait to go paintballing and in his words, laser tag is 'gay'...
your cousin speaks the truth.

i mean come on. it would be alright if it gave you an electric shock when you got hit. part of the reason i play paintball is the pain when getting shot, i dont know why but it makes it better for me.

Well just for the record for some of you guys. There is no age limit to paintballing ! Most people think it is 12 but that is not true. The insurance companies use to have the age at 12 but over the last few months have changed that to 11 as long as your in year 7 at school. Also I know of at least one site that has been granted a special clause in it's insurance to take 10 year olds. But they have some pretty strict rules on it and run in a seperate part on their premises.

Make your mind up. Show me a site where any age is allowed to play - I think you'll have a hard task!

There maybe a rule where any age can play, but I have never seen it in writing.
I think the reason everyone says 11-12 is because no insurance company will insure any under that age.
At our site the minimum age is 11.

Although we are straying off topic here...

Bully's UKPSF site has the whole 'air gun' rules posted up. http://www.ukpsf.com/paintballlaw.asp#7 is the best place to check.

Although I can quite legally take my 10-y-old son paintballing (on private land), no site in the country will let him 'play' - as they will not be covered under the terms of their insurance (public liability I believe).

This is actually a good idea - imagine the lovely press coverage we'd get if a 10-y-old got 'hurt' at a rental site!

id say laser tag is definatly for the younger kids who'd want to try that before they did paintball, or because they were "too young" to do paintball,

did "laser tag" with the TA once, was quite fun, when you got shot a number appears on a little screen on your harness thing,
that number represents an injury on a card they give you.

we had the medics out on exersice with us too, so there were some pretty random injuries, on guy had to pretend that he'd burnt his eyelashes off....:p

doubt id pay to do it with a bunch of 10 year olds though

I have heard a lot about this and i think within time it will take some business away from the rec ball sites.

There is even talk about having gps tracking on them so you can be in your base and know were the enemy is and telly our side to go and get them....

i think it is evolving in such a way that rec site owners are going to have a run for there money.
