cos like the Halley Bop comet, or Ledz eating a salad, or Graham Easton being interesting, you ain't gonna see it again in your lifetime...but then again that probabaly ain't so long for an old guy whose blood pressure regularly tries to emulate Mt. Etna's...

Red, do you honestly think a genuine analytical chemist is gonna tell everybody that fat (lard) is a carbohydrate?
I think not mate, if this guy is a university accredited analytical chemist then I'm humble, have no ego, mild mannered and have hair like Chris Lasoya !!!!!!

And Robbo, the body does not store energy in the form of carbohydrates.

Jynx re-read my post and check out the word 'ultimately' and review what consequence it has in what I am saying.
I did not say Carbohydrates was the energy resource, I merely said it was ultimately used as one and to help you along with this, here is a definition as it appears on a medical journal web site.

Functions:
The primary function of carbohydrates is to provide energy for the body, especially the brain and the nervous system. The body breaks down starches and sugars into a substance called glucose, which is used for energy by the body.

I will await your reply !!!

The body does store carbohydrate: glycogen (which is a starch-like polysaccharide) is stored in the liver and converted to glucose when the body needs energy, and converted back when it isn't. Any excess is further processed into fats which are stored under the skin, around organs or substituted for brain tissue if you happen to be a politician ;)

You may have heard of Diabetes, which means that one of the hormones that controls this conversion procees (insulin), isn't manufactured properly.

Moral of the story is- be kind to your liver.

Hey Jonesy, correctamundo but you didn't need me to verify any of that for you but I think I would really like for you to have verified that lard / fat is not a Carb since that was the initial point of contention.
Your obvious expertise would be appreciated :)
