One idea would be if you had a kit with a fairly long back like kaner or redz pepper sticks you could have a stupidly long front at the break and upon reaching your first bunker unscrew the front and just use the back

what about if you made a spring round the outside of your freak kit, and then after the break you compressed it back down, and clipped it over the edge?
i mean one of those reallllly loose springs with really thin metal
