There's a post elsewhere that goes on about how paintball aint extreme enough....perhaps this is right?

Lack of tricks I think, but how on earth can we inject a bit of tricknology into the game. I don't think the current format warrants it unless we have decent set plays and the tactical element can be related to like american football is with formations and basic tactical set ups.

Commentators need a handle on the sport and I think at the minute all they could really say is 'wow, look at him, he just shot that other guy out', it's shame because you can only really get it if you play it, the rush I mean, not the....you know what I mean.

so why not get the dude down to tourney

geting down to see what it all about could be good for the sport ,

yes it cost a lot to film but if bravo can do it why not E/sports

ok mission paintball may not be a very good representation of the sport but at least we got air and its a start.

maybe we should do 360 flips when taking a bunker ?

or even skydiving paintball ????

:D

Sorry to disapoint you guys these figures are only an average. Ask bully no offence here every year he sends us surveys to complete I have always done my best to fill these in as I am sure so do all the other sites that bother. Yup there are 110 + member sites and how many actually take the time to fill it in. Figures for 99/00 95 sites 8 returned them. I can't find the correct figure for 00/01 but they were equally well suported. so basiccaly the figures are only an estimate of less than a 10% of the actuall site and this depends on who fill theirs in it is not nessasry to say which site you are so if the busy sites don't bother the figures could be far higher.

This is no mean a slight to steve or the UKPSF who I whole hearted do my best to support and belive in. I just think it would help if every one made an effort and we could have realisic figures to bandy about. Yes we still are a minority sport and getting regular cover or cover for big events would be wonderful and help all of us. It was relitivly easy to get the accademy launch on TV un like getting the industry to attend even though we had heated VIP area with coffee tables, cute girls and buffet plus real food.:(

With Media people its an angle luck and very much down to who you know and if they have a gap to fill. Afew more lucky gaps and a bit more exposure and fingers crossed we will be on our way.

peace love hugs and cookies sparklie

There's no luck involved in getting paintball on TV. We need to write the manufacturers of our equipment. If JT and Worr products show up and say, you produce a show and we'll buy all the commercial time it's on air, there will be a show. Money talks. You've gotta buy air-time. I don't have the money for it, but I'll support whoever does, even if it's brass eagle.

TO really do it jutice you would have to have two cameras at an elevated position at each end, then to keep it interesting you would have to have
cameras at elevation on sidelines to do closeups and keep track of moves and muggings which would
require the cameramen to be tourny players as they would have the experience to anticipate these moves. Then on top of it all you would have to watch all this on a split screen to keep the play
alive, othewise your flipping perspective back and forth and this would lose your audience. I'm a
tourny player and I have hard time watching
some of these films, clips. Its one thing if you attended the event and another thing if you have
never watched or played paintball to view a
movie about this sport. sorry, but I can't see
it hitting the big screen any time soon, needs
a bigger following.:( :( :(

Actually there is a motion picture being produced. It will probably do for us what "Rad" did for BMX, but I'll see it anyway. So will lots of others.

Lets see what happens

Just mailed this Andy dude and asked if he or anyone else from the channel would be willing to come alomng to Campaign in September. At least this way they don't have any excuses for not liking the sport, unless they can't be arsed coming along.

Anyone got dates??
