First Post!
This is my first post, but just know that I'm not some snot-nosed 14 year old punk from SoCal =o)
I just want to let all the Euroballers out there know that many among us Americans are incredibly ashamed of how our premier league has handled this situation. I've played this sport for 16 years and this is one of, if not THE worst call I have ever seen. I've tried for the last two days, to a great extent, to wrap my mind around how the refs came to the decision that they did. I have not yet found the answer. If the "malicious intent" call stands and Sebban/Scandal receive a suspension, I will be totally speechless. Joy won that game.
Many people on the PBnation forums, for their various biased reasons, have said the call deserves no review, etc. etc. I cannot understand how they can say this, as even the most hardcore dynasty fan can clearly see that this call was controversial. That said, I've tried to explain that even if there is no overturning of this call or the suspension, debate on issue is still healthy - that it will increase the NPPL and all paintball leagues' collective ability to make correct calls in the future. To me, this clearly indicates the need for cameras on the field to be used with instant replay/play reviews.
And Robbo, I want to say thanks to you for PGI and this forum. The magazine is definitely the most informed and well written paintball publication today, and as well these forums are a much more peaceful and intelligible place to discuss our sport than, say, PBnation.
Rock on, Joy!
