Joeschmoe Time-to-go

Sorry Recoil

But it's you who misunderstand...the only person doing any judging was you - throwing the words 'muppet' and 'wannabe Rambo' around clearly illustrates that. You judged other players who wear kit and use guns you don't like for reasons you have decided upon...statements you made like

"Joe Shcmo in Camos and military based paintball markers are not PC and should not be given the, what is probably quite valuable, space within the industries leading magazine."

are fairly unequivocal.

Nobody has misunderstood what you are saying, everyone is simply disagreeing with you.

fair enough....

if everyone disagrees then I have no problem and obviously I need to take a step back and take another look at what i percieve to be the problem. I dont think I will ever change my mind about the press/certain areas of the public and its paintball perceptions, I think those need changing and I beleive there are ways to go about it.

Doesnt the saying go all publicity is good publicity?

Well, as a Rec-Baller, the only thing sillier than the Joe Schmoe articles in PGI is reading the silly SH!T that Turtle Licker posted here about his take on the state of Rec-Ball.

I understand he's a Brit, but that was still some silly SH!T.
What a great flame from this guy:rolleyes:

I really did like rec-ballers as they pay for my latest toys when I marshal them, but after seeing such a constructive coment as this I am starting to go off them.
Oh by the way its Tortoise-Licker:mad:

A funny thing happened last night when my boss at the site phoned me. He was moaning about how there were no bookings for this Sunday and couldn't understand what was going on.
On hearing this I had to inform him that the footie was on and England were playing Sweden at 10:30am GMT. At this muttered something under his breath and then asked how long the world cup was on for. On hearing that it runs for a month the only thing he could say was 'great thats 15 to 30 grand out of my pocket'.
Now do you see how draconian British site owners are?
90% of the english population are cheering on our team and he's more worried about where his next million is coming from.
The funniest part is there is only one day that really affects bookings and this time is going to be slow anyhow due to the long bank holiday weekend.
When you also ask him about why he does'nt allow walkons he says why should he only charge £15 per person and still provide the staff to man the games when he is not making on average of £50 out of each person who turns up.
Its this kind of attitude that will keep paintball in the dark-ages in the UK and I am surprised that more people don't play 'outlaw'.

Recoil--Perhaps the disconnect is more in the way your words are read as opposed to the opinion expressed. Readers have little option but to take what someone writes more or less literally and what wouldn't particularly bother someone in a conversation may be "misunderstood" to one degree or another in a post. I have taken to including various smilies in my posts to "help" anyone reading my posts get the gist of what I'm trying to say. God knows most of these people are uneducated beer swilling Brits.:D :D Oh, your a Brit, too?
As to your broad opinion about the general perception of paintball to the non-paintball world I have said it before, and will say it again now--cus I love being right--as tourney or "sport" paintball gains a higher public profile the potential for a "negative" view of paintball as survivalist, backwoods wannabe gun slingers will fade away and it won't have anything to do with the relative numbers of players.
Moo

T-L--keep telling yourself it's Tortoise-Licker, dude. We both know it's Toad and not any old ordinary toad either.;)

Man, you pick out that one part and slap me on that. I've been in here defending Joe Schmoe, and you pull out my rally car comment! Actually, rallying's the same as paintball, you can toss a car together, get some safety equipment, and enter a race, aaand run alongside (sort of) the top racers. Hey, we've had this arguement before, and you showed me what was what then, that's why I've been backing you, you boob.

I love you Ant, let's not fight. *kissy-wissy*

TJ, everybody............stop fighting, just put my idea in PGI. everybody will see my pic and sales will rocket. when people who read other "lesser" mage hear that im in PGI they will convert.

Look, everybody knows that they started as a rec baller, and that they are the backbone of the game financialy.

But these people hve cahnged from a rec baller (for better or worse) and come to think of it, if the Joe Shmoe was not as bad as this months and more something/somebody that these people can relate to.......

......in their new non-rec-ball-more-OTE-walk-on-scense.

and i think you should give them me!!!!
