More teams, but we cannot help that....
More training sites, because they seem to disappering?

Tinkering ain’t easy
In answer Dex.

-Would that make a difference as their must only be 30 or so teams who stay round more than a year. Locked divs might be nice but might also backfire unless they have some kind of transfer period.

-More teams playing and staying together would be good

-Training sites need the money from people comming though the door but you know us 'ballers Dex, many dont want to train, especially in the winter, and those that do want it cheap as chips so the fields make very little money for the amount of effort they put in.

What paintball needs is for more people to enjoy it thus staying playing and encouraging more in as well. Training sites need to have a turnover of players seeing what supair is, the only real way to do this is either from having it attached to their regular site or by mass, and expensive, marketing.

-Yes maybe the federation should come up with this ,maybe all the tournement organiser's should come to gether and create one big tournement?

-Even if its only say people starting off with a 3man team would be good and better if they played tournements..

-I personaly love training and would love a training site to open up at least a hour away but i cannot get much training done eaither due to the training sites that are decent and open are at least 1hour and 30 mins- 2 hours away:(. But if one of them around me opens up and books their idea's up would cause alot of players to play therefore them making some money.

For starting BOP are making paintball well known at the minute in the UK with events like Blackpool which raised the bar a bit....

But im sure all of us could decide on something and come up with a idea that will sort this all out???

Maybe a training site that is based in the middle of the midlands or something like that????:)

:D Dex :D

honor and honesty
I think many ballers like you and i have that.

But need to bring it out in them selfs.....

I love playing paintball with a passion, hell its a addiciton to me.

Its not anymore having fun playing i have seen more people care about they look and not how they should act, there is some people in this sport who have a attitude towards others which can put them of and i have seen this behaviour....

We can most certainly create and maintain the infrastructure for all this but unless the players respond by attending, then there isn't much chance of any recovery program working.

At the moment, I need to be convinced teams / players are prepared to act instead of just talk because at the back of my mind, I got a sneaking feeling we could be flogging a dead horse.

And on that equine note, I'm provoked to quote another aphorism, you can take a horse to water but you can't make it drink .... the Federation can, and will create the recovery infrastructure but ....well, I'm sure we can all fill in the blanks on that one.

Let's all make a new year's resolution to try to commit to a more unified approach to our sport instead of the 'I'll do what I want' attitude we seem to witness when players elect to go to this event or that.

Thank you robbo for your respose since you are part of the Fed:)

I will be coming along .
Players need to think that if locked divisions would improve the playing and teams becuase it would be like the premier league in football you dont move up into the next division unless of your points...

The PA tried this and failed, they had big ideas of bringing paintball to the masses and like other organizers tried to take paintball onto TV which will NEVER work!

The PA did the locked division thing with relegation and promotion etc which in theory works however when you have 3 or 4 teams not turning up it screws a whole division leaving the organizers in a very awkward situation, you could combat this by having payment up front so teams are more likely to attend but come on that's not going to happen

I like the idea of the Federation and its good to know things are going back in the right direction but to be honest if anything there has been a pretty big decline in the UK scene, certainly since I last played seriously.

Dex, its always been the same regarding training up our way, I used to have to travel miles and miles to train on a regular basis and certainly ain't willing to do it again now and to be fair no one is going to open a camp unless there is some monetary reward involved and as another poster said players want to play for as cheap as possible (fair enough)

Its an odd one really, its almost like the atmosphere of the whole thing has changed somehow? maybe I'm just getting old??
